    Maddie Browning

Maddie Browning is a freelance arts and culture reporter who covers music, visual arts, books, food, and fashion. She loves reporting on female and nonbinary singer-songwriters and sharing the small artists on her playlists with her community. Maddie was previously the arts reporting fellow at WBUR, Boston’s NPR, where she spoke with Katie Gavin of MUNA about her solo project, caught up with Remi Wolf at Boston Calling, unearthed the legacy of ‘80s rock band Salem 66, and hung out with a local DIY band who opened for Maggie Rogers. She was also the youngest member of the local Tiny Desk panel. Maddie has more than five years of culture writing experience, and her byline has appeared in NPR, The Boston Globe, Business Insider, Boston.com, WBUR, and Colorado Public Radio, among others. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Emerson College. On a day off, she enjoys checking out new local coffee shops and thrifting with friends. Before any of this, she was a little girl dancing around my room to Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift CDs.
