    The Promise

The Harmonist, which only uses the most precious natural fragrance ingredients, toes the line between fantasy and enduring practicality. Each bottle invokes a sense of mysticism, but is also refillable and opaque to protect the stability of the scent. And while all the brand's perfumes smell good, naturally, they are also created to bring balance and serenity to your life. The newest addition, Moon Glory, is a floral perfume. But a type of floral you've never imagined before.

When you think of florals, sweet garden notes might come to mind, as the category has become synonymous with words like "feminine," "summery," and "delicate." This perfume flies in the face of all those assumptions with notes like Hawaiian jasmine, Queen of the Night flower, passionflower, Ylang Ylang, lychee, honey, and musk. When first applied, the perfume gives off a hint of sweetness. As it wears, a citrusy, salty honey note takes over.

    Why I'm Obsessed

They say scent has a very strong link to memory, but this perfume manages the unique task of creating a new memory for me. When I'm spritzing it on, I'm suddenly reminded of a night I'm very sure never happened: I'm walking through a forest path at night, illuminated only by lightning bugs. Maybe there's a handsome stranger strolling besides me. We come across a stream where a wood nymph asks us to solve a riddle. There are fairies here, too.

Part of the magic this product conjures has to do with the bottle and the name. This perfume looks better suited to be sitting in a sorceress' cabin than on my sink, but I'm not complaining. In these current times, escapism has become almost as necessary as therapy. Moon Glory evokes such a strong picture of appreciating nature and finding peace in enduring stabilities like moonlight, that putting it on immediately instills a sense of calm.

Lastly and perhaps most importantly, this perfume has changed my mind about floral scents. Moon Glory truly surprised me in the best possible way: It smells fresh and botanical, but in no way excessively sweet or girly. Now, when people ask about my perfume preferences, I say: "I love floral perfumes—if they're anything like Moon Glory."
