Now that you've had time to read Midnight Sun, the love you once had for Twilight has been reignited. In this time of Twilight Renaissance, grown women are realizing that the books and movies we were shunned for liking were actually…kind of awesome? Great soundtrack, hilarious exchanges, mood lighting for days, and arguably enough fire beauty looks to fill a whole new book. The older I get, the more I can appreciate Twilight in a new way. Did it romanticize creepy controlling relationships? Sure did. Was there a thinly-not-thinly veiled pro-life message? There certainly was. But it also included some incredible moments, like Charlie Swan being a good parent, vampires playing baseball, Charlie Swan being giving the most epic wedding speech ever, shirtless werewolves, and did I mention Charlie Swan?

If we can accept Twilight for what it isa flawed but relevant moment in cinematic historythen it is my belief that jumping back in that rabbit hole is an excellent idea. And because I have two obsessions, Twilight and beauty, I have decided to unite them. Behold, the best beauty looks from the Twilight franchise. And no, Bella Swan isn't on here. Alexa, play "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse.

    Best Spiky Bangs

Alice Cullen had a few startling hair transformations during the five Twilight films, which begs the question: Does vampire hair still grow? Paired with some layered necklaces and a cardigan that's still relevant in 2020, this spiky pixie cut deserves a movie all its own. To mimic the look, try using a flat iron like the Bed Head Pixie On Point Straightener ($30), and some OUAI Matte Pomade ($24) to add some spiky texture.

You could say that Edward is dangerously possessive and shouldn't date women who are 90 years younger than him. But you can't say that he doesn't have amazing eyebrows. Those bad boys are so thick and dark that even Cara Delevingne is jealous. My guess is that he uses the Fenty Beauty Brow MVP Pencil and Styler ($20) to fill in any gaps, and goes over that with the Benefit Gimme Brow+ Gel ($24) for extra volume and drama.

    Best Revenge Bride

    Best Revenge Bride

Rosalie Hale is hands down the most underrated and misjudged character in the entire Twilight franchise. She's painted like a bitchy, vain airhead, when actually she's a badass survivor who wanted to make sure Bella didn't repeat her mistakes. The cherry on top of her character is when she murders her abuser in this bridal get-up. Her eye look can be achieved with the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad in Modern Glamour ($62). Badassery sold separately.

    Best Dramatic Liner

Jane's character can be counted on to bring the drama, whether that's via murder, torture, or any of her other hobbies. She's one of the few characters in the Twilight series who goes all out with her makeup looks. This negative-space cat eye can be achieved using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eyeliner in Blacquer ($26).

    Best No-Makeup Makeup Look

Adolescent me really fell for the message that Leah Clearwater was a grouchy joy-killer. In reality, she's a badass female werewolf who tries to take care of her baby brother and a super ungrateful Jacob Black. She doesn't have time for a full beauty look while she's running around being cool, so I recommend grabbing Glossier Boy Brow in Clear ($16), and an invisibobble SLIM Elegant Hair Ring ($8) so your hair stays put.

    Best Effortless Waves

    Best Effortless Waves

This is the hill I will die on: Jasper Hale is the most swoon-worthy character in the entire film series. Don't even talk to me about Jacob or Edward while Jasper is around. He's got the accent, the strawberry blonde waves, and he's super cute with Alice. Did I mention he knows how to deal with newborns? I digress. To achieve those post-battle tousled waves, spritz in some Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($48). Now gaze longingly out the window to really perfect the look.

    Best Subtle Smokey Eye

Tanya came into the franchise late, in Breaking Dawn Part II, but she still made an impression. Tousled blonde curls aside, she has a very doll-like look, which is partly due to her excellent eye makeup. To achieve the matte smokey eye she has going on, you can use the Dior BACKSTAGE Eyeshadow Palette in Cool Neutrals ($49). To complete the look, add some Ardell Duralash Individual Lashes ($5) to the outer lash line.

    Best Headbands

    Best Headbands

Jessica Stanley is the unsung hero of Twilight. She's the only one who said what we were all thinking when Edward and Bella got engaged, plus she's honestly a good friend, no matter how much Edward's inner monologue in Midnight Sun begs to differ. To rock her signature headband in 2020, reach for something a little more contemporary, like the KITSCH x Justine Marjan Patent Headband with Chain ($24).

    Best Bouncy Curls

    Best Bouncy Curls

Victoria is basically what you find when you Google "problematic fave." Sure, she's a murderer with a weirdly misplaced vendetta against Bella, but it's also really fun to see someone best the Cullens for once. Truthfully, I'm not sure how she managed to hide from them with such a distinctive head of hair. To get her amazing fiery curls, use the Briogeo Curl Charisma Defining Cream ($20), and some PATTERN Jojoba Oil Hair Serum for extra hydration ($25).

    Best Mustache

    Best Mustache

As we've aged, I think we can all agree that Charlie is the true hero of Twilight. He's the best parent in the mix, far superior to Dr. Death or Renée. He wanted Bella to keep her friends in addition to her boyfriend, which is sound advice that Bella definitely needed to hear. Arguably Charlie's best feature is his signature mustacheaside from his gun, of course. To keep your mustache in as good shape as Charlie's, invest in some Tweezerman Moustache Scissors ($12) and some Mountaineer Brand Moustache Wax ($13).
