    THE PROMISE:

As we're all active participants in quarantining to push through the public health crisis, there's never been a better time than now to transform your home into a self-care sanctuary. With constant news updates that can trigger anxiety, it's critical to create an environment that caters to your well-being at home. Scent works directly with our brains, and numerous studies prove the power of aromatherapy essential oils can impact our mood and overall health. Studies show that bergamot essential oil reduces stress and introduces positive feelings. Rosemary essential oil strengthens mental awareness, while rose essential oil reduces adrenaline by 30 percent. Ylang ylang essential oil boosts self-esteem, reduces anxiety, and decreases blood pressure. And lavender essential oil, my absolute favorite, enhances the overall feeling of well-being.

The easiest, and most aesthetically pleasing way to invite all of these scents into your home at once is with an essential oil diffuser. Vitruvi, one of the chicest (and priciest) options on the market, is small enough to save counter space, yet pretty enough to double as decor so pretty you'll want it on display. It's made of high-quality porcelain and this Terracotta shade adds a richness wherever you place it. To get the scents going, simply add water, then squeeze about 20 drops of pure essential oil in it, which the brand also sells, then let it fill the air of your apartment for up to seven hours. You won't have to worry about the stress of turning it off either, it does that on its own.

After endlessly scrolling through Vitruvi's gorgeous instagram feed, which is full of apartment decor inspo and skin goals, I knew I needed this in my home stat. To be honest, candles are absolutely amazing but they're a pain to remember to blow out. This diffuser has been serving as an alternative for me lately, and I'm in love with everything about it. First off, the porcelain material gives the diffuser a high-end look I don't want to hide. Second, I've been going to sleep with it on and waking up with glowy skin. I'm convinced that the diffuser along with my nighttime skincare routine has completely erased my dry skin winter woes by counteracting the moisture-sucking air in my apartment. And third, I agree with every single study that proves essential oils' mood-boosting powers—I've been breathing a bit easier from the lavender-filled aroma in my apartment, despite everything that's going on.

It's also comforting to know that essential oil diffusers have antiviral, antifungal, and antioxidant properties to strengthen our immune systems. Essentially, support your mind, body, and soul with this very valuable purchase. And to make you feel even better, the brand has a charitable initiative with an organization called One Girl Can, which helps improve the betterment of schools and communities in Kenya and Uganda.
