My Body Care Routine Is Thanking the Nordstrom Fall Sale for Its Seasonal Refresh

For me, shopping for beauty products is as close to participating in a sport as I’ll ever get in my adult years. With that in mind, when a cosmetics sale happens, it’s like my Super Bowl, and I’ll always be front and center for every single one of them. Next on the roster? The Nordstrom Fall Savings Event.

Running from September 17th to the 23rd, the Nordstrom Fall Sale will offer 15 percent off select beauty products, including makeup sets, skincare items, and hair care, too. Even fragrance lovers can get in on the fun, so if you’ve been eyeing one of this year’s fragrance award winners, now is your chance to smell great while saving money.

That being said, I will stock up on some of my favorite body products, including my go-to creams, shower gels, and miniature versions of some formulas I already love, in anticipation of the upcoming holiday travel season. Speaking of, this sale is a great way to start crossing items off your gift list. Whether it’s for your loved ones or yourself is your business, but just know that if it’s the latter, I don’t judge (and I might be following your lead).

Keep reading for the bath and body products I’ll be shopping for to stay moisturized and smell fresh for the cooler seasons ahead.

    Lovely Lathers

I'm very serious about my shower gels and body washes because I truly believe they can elevate a regular shower into a sensory experience. Here are a few formulas that I already know, love, and plan to restock.

    Saffron amp;amp; Cedar Body Wash

    Salt Stone
Saffron Cedar Body Wash ($36 Value)
    $1
    $30.60 AT NORDSTROM

Salt and Stone’s body wash, especially in the scent Saffron and Cedar, is a year-round favorite, but it feels especially comforting in the fall. It’s warm, amber-y, and slightly woody, making my bathroom smell like a luxurious spa every time I use it.

    Almond Shower Oil

    L'Occitane
    Almond Shower Oil ($12 Value)
    $10
    SHOP NOW

As the weather gets colder, my skin gets drier, so I make sure to start my moisturizing routine before I even step out of the shower. This in-shower oil and body wash hybrid is how I do it. Not only does it smell like sweet, creamy almonds, but I use it as a last rinse right before I get out, and the difference in how moisturized my skin feels after I dry off is drastic.

    Body Oils or Bust

Oils are a nonnegotiable part of my body care routine, especially during fall and winter. However, I prefer lighter, non-greasy formulas, and the ones below perfectly fit the bill.

    The Geranium Body Oil

    Augustinus Bader
The Geranium Body Oil ($112 Value)
    $95
    SHOP NOW

Anyone who knows me knows how much I rave about the Augustinus Bader body oil. I am almost out of the bottle I currently use, but luckily, the sale will make that price more manageable. I have to admit, even though this is definitely a luxury body oil, it is totally worth it. It absorbs quickly, leaves no residue, and has almost no fragrance at all, making it ideal for sensitive skin.

    Rose Gold Radiance Body Oil

    111SKIN
Rose Gold Radiance Body Oil ($95 Value)
    $81
    SHOP NOW

I use this body oil mainly as a glowy topper for nights out rather than as a skincare product because it has the most subtle shimmer that makes my skin look deliciously glossy. The warm, slightly floral scent is also very subtle, so it pairs well with any fragrance layered with it.

    Stay Moisturized

I will admit that in the past, I went to bed ashy because I couldn’t stand the feeling of lotion on my skin. Times have definitely changed, but I’m still extremely picky about the formulas I choose. Here are some of the best formulas I’ve tried recently.

The Body Cramp;egrave;me Hydrating Body Lotion

    La Mer
The Body Crème Hydrating Body Lotion ($330 Value)
    $281
    SHOP NOW

La Mer doesn’t cut corners when it comes to its products, including the brand’s luxe body care line. This body cream is silky and glides across the skin effortlessly, and in the process it leaves behind the most elegant scent—akin to a soft baby powder and fresh linens. It’s such a treat to use after a long day, especially on nights when I’m unsure what I want my bedtime scent to be and want something both my husband and I will enjoy.

    Mojave Ghost Body Lotion

    Byredo
Mojave Ghost Body Lotion ($80 Value)
    $68
    SHOP NOW

I recently fell in love with Byredo’s Mojave Ghost perfume, and like when I become obsessed with something, I want to buy all of the auxiliaries. Thankfully, the corresponding lotion is on sale for this event, and it even comes in a chic bottle that emulates the original perfume packaging.

Serums Are For Your Body, Too

I’ve been trying to be better about treating the skin on my body as well as I do the skin on my face. These are the serums I’m using to address body acne, dark marks, and texture on my chest.

    Cheat Sheet Resurfacing Body Serum

    OUI the People
Cheat Sheet Resurfacing Body Serum ($45 Value)
    $38
    SHOP NOW

From Oui The People, the resurfacing body serum contains a tri-acid complex that helps to resurface the skin by gently exfoliating dead skin cells. The lightweight texture won’t make the feel like its sitting on top of your skin, and honestly, on days when I’m feeling lazy, I might use this as a facial serum too (don’t judge me).

Salicylic Acid 0.5% Body Serum Exfoliating Treatment for Acne

    The Ordinary
Salicylic Acid 0.5% Body Serum Exfoliating Treatment for Acne ($15 Value)
    $13
    SHOP NOW

Specifically for my body acne, I want to use The Ordinary’s salicylic acid body serum. The key ingredient, salicylic acid, helps to address oil and sebum production, which prevents acne before it even forms. The targeted tip also makes application as mess-free as possible.

Smell Good From Head to Toe

Personally, I subscribe to the fragrance before bed narrative, and my body care routine isn’t complete without a spritz or two. Eau de parfums tend to be too strong for this part of my routine, so that's when body sprays come into play.

    Marshmallows Hair amp;amp; Body Mist

    Ellis Brooklyn
Marshmallows Hair Body Mist ($35 Value)
    $30
    SHOP NOW

I've been really into marshmallow fragrances lately, and this body spray is perfection. All I smell is delicious, Jet Puff-like goodness every time I spray it on, and honestly, it’s almost as tempting as eating a whole bag of those soft, fluffy marshmallows before bed.

    Almond Hair amp;amp; Body Mist

    L'Occitane
Almond Hair Body Mist ($40 Value)
    $34
    SHOP NOW

If you love the L’Occitane almond shower oil I mentioned, I have a strong feeling you’ll enjoy this body spray as well. The combination of almonds and vanilla creates the most comforting scent, perfect for drifting off into dreamland.
