If you have an ear to the beauty streets, it’s unlikely you were able to escape the news that Hailey Bieber sold her beauty brand, rhode, to e.l.f. Cosmetics for $1 billion dollars last summer. The model and influencer launched her skincare brand in 2022 after popularizing the “glazed donut” skin trend, and within a few years, she’s managed to curate a lineup of simple-but-effective formulas that are beloved by Millennials and Gen Z-ers alike. But, believe me, Bieber’s ability to develop a handful of beloved SKUs isn’t just due to her superstar status—the products, which she developed with help from cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson and New York City dermatologist Dhaval Bhanusali, MD, are actually that good.

Today, rhode has 13 products in its lineup (it initially launched with three), and if you’re still on the fence about whether or not you should give them a try, I've spent the last month and a half testing nearly every single one. Read ahead to take a look at my favorites.

If there was any rhode product I could give a best overall award to, it’d for sure be the Peptide Lip Treatment. I’ve never been a big fan of lip glosses because they make my lips feel way too sticky. I’ve been an Aquaphor loyalist for a long time, but this balm measures up just fine when it comes to getting my often-dry, peeling lips in shape when I need it most. I prefer the clear, neutral shade for everyday wear but the tinted version of this product is also worth the purchase.

    Glazing Mist Hydrating Face Spray

For the last month and a half, I’ve been keeping this mist on my desk as a way to combat the tight, dry feeling that I get mid-afternoon on days when I’ve decided to forego wearing complexion makeup. I’ve told just about everyone who’ll listen at this point that, while my T-zone is normally quite oily, my skin has been uncharacteristically dry this past winter, but a few spritzes of this ceramide-heavy mist, as I've learned, is enough to make me feel refreshed and hydrated. It’s a skincare product, but you can also spray it over your complexion makeup if you want to give yourself a dewy glow.

    Pineapple Refresh Pga Daily Cleanser

To me, a good cleanser is one that lathers well and doesn’t just feel like I’m rubbing wet cream all over my face. This cleanser has a thick, jelly texture that does just that when it comes in contact with water, making it strong enough to remove complexion makeup (like a skin tint—you’ll probably need something a little more heavy duty if you’re removing full-coverage foundation), excess oil, and sunscreen in just one go. Pineapple acts as a natural exfoliant while hyaluronic and polyglutamic acids both draw moisture back into the skin so that you won’t feel dry after cleansing.

    Barrier Butter Intensive Moisture Balm

Most of the skincare products in the rhode lineup put a lot of emphasis on barrier maintenance and repair, and this is one of them. With words like “balm” and “butter” in the name, you’d expect it to be a rich cream with a super-thick texture—it isn’t (it’s soft and easily spreadable), but it still moisturizes fairly well thanks to the inclusion of gentle ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid. I prefer to use it at night after I’ve showered and washed my face, but it’s a cream that can be used any time of day and even on areas below the face and neck.

Pocket Blush Buildable Hydrating Cream Blush - Sleepy Girl - Soft Mauve

I have a bias towards cream blushes because I find them much easier to apply and control than powder formulas, but that’s not the main reason why I’m a fan of this blush in particular. It comes in a variety of shades (from soft pink to toasted bronze) that look flattering on most skin tones and it has a buttery, non-tacky texture that easily glides onto the skin. Add a few swipes of this on top of your complexion makeup if you want to add a little more color or dimension to your face, though you can also use it when your face is bare and you want to give your cheeks (and lips) and natural flush.

Peptide Lip Shape Contouring Lip Shaper - Bend - Soft Peachy Beige

This is another product you can use to add a subtle amount of color to your lips without being too dramatic. The shade lineup is filled with nude, flesh-toned colors that are meant to enhance your lip shape while also giving your lips a blurred effect. It glides on pretty smoothly and is easy to apply without smudging.
