Can I make a confession? I've only recently discovered the true difference between wrinkles and dehydration lines. Wrinkles tend to appear as deep, carved folds or creases in the skin, whereas dehydration lines are shallow lines on the surface of the skin that can fade after proper hydration. When you're looking at your face after a late night, it's easy to mistake the latter for permanent wrinkles. I like to think that neither is permanent or untreatable as long as Rodan + Fields' Active Hydration Serum is on the market. It's a two-in-one powerhouse product that treats wrinkles and dehydration lines by drawing hydration to the skin's surface. I struggle with dehydration lines during busier seasons at work or when I'm getting less sleep at night, but I find comfort in knowing that I can add this serum to my nighttime skincare routine for almost immediate hydration. I couldn't help myself, so I did a deep dive on this multifunctional, clinically tested, and dermatologist-created product for you below.

Although I can never pass a reflective surface without looking at myself in it, it's often difficult to differentiate between wrinkles and signs of dehydration. When your skin is dry, it often reveals deeper fine lines and a more aged complexion. Luckily, I don't have to spend an excessive amount of time in the mirror analyzing these lines now that I know the Rodan + Fields Active Hydration Serum exists. It goes beyond targeting wrinkles—it attacks the root of the issue.

The Active Hydration Serum uses a proprietary 3D3P Molecular Matrix, which includes 30% glycerin plus cross-linked hyaluronic acid to draw moisture from the air and lock it into your skin. If you're having a hard time visualizing this, you're not alone. Just know that this process creates a continuous hydration reservoir that lasts up to eight hours. It only takes one use to achieve skin that looks visibly plumper, smoother, and younger, which is all I want. I have a hard time staying consistent with new products if I don't see results soon after testing. But unlike a lot of other skincare products on the market, you don't have to wait months to see a change in your skin after using this serum. Clinical studies showed a 200% increase in hydration after just one use. As an impatient maximalist, this is right up my alley. Not only is the skin visibly hydrated, but the hydration lasts up to eight hours.
