'The Last Dance' Playlist Is Available on Spotify

ESPN’s hit docuseries The Last Dance has come to an end after five consecutive weeks. The 10-episode series has been praised for its in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at Michael Jordan’s final season with the Chicago Bulls and the ins and outs of the team’s journey to a championship win for the 1997-8 NBA season. Along with the legendary tales about Jordan’s career and personal life, each episode of the documentary was accompanied by an iconic playlist that gave us all of the nostalgic '80s and '90s feels. From the documentary's fitting opening—"Been Around the World" by Puff Daddy featuring the Notorious B.I.G. and Mase—to the final episode, the tunes featured in the The Last Dance were a highlight for many viewers.

Many viewers expressed their admiration for the striking playlist:

Rudy Chung, the music supervisor for the series, explained in a New York Times article: "Originally, the filmmakers considered incorporating contemporary music throughout the series." Jason Hehir, the series director, went on to add: "I think we pretty quickly realized that the best thing was to tell the story with songs from the era."

Luckily for those of you intrigued by the iconic curation of songs, ESPN, Netflix, and Spotify have teamed up to publish a playlist as an extension of the documentary. The playlist features a collection of 55 songs—nearly four hours of all of the hits from and inspired by the docuseries.

Although the documentary included only 29 of the songs featured in the above playlist, you'll be taken on a nostalgic journey through the '80s, '90s, up 'til the present day with this perfectly orchestrated soundtrack.
