If Harry Styles's New Year's resolution was "break the Internet," then consider his goal achieved. Hot off the heels of his buzzy new music video co-starring none other than an impeccably tailored Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Styles is debuting a new relationship and a new bathrobe.
On the first Monday of the new year, Page Six published images of Styles and Olivia Wilde holding hands, reporting that the A-list couple is dating. People followed the story with its very own report that the two "have dated for a few weeks."
The couple made their public debut at Styles's agent's wedding in Montecito—also known as the new hometown of Meghan Markle and that other Harry. "They were affectionate around their friends, held hands and looked very happy," People's source adds. Furthermore, the Daily Mail obtained images of Wilde arriving at Styles's L.A. home carrying luggage, proving she wasn't just the 26-year-old singer's wedding plus-one.
Styles is clearly entering the new year with some give-n0-Fs energy because he attended the aforementioned wedding in a...bathrobe and slippers. Quizzically, he appeared to arrive at the event in a tux (Wilde wore a floor-length floral and lace gown with matching pink headband) but changed into the loungewear to officiate the ceremony. He paired his bathrobe with a drink that he seemingly did not put down for any of the pictures with the bride and groom. Did paparazzi simply just capture a pre-wedding rehearsal moment before Harry had time to slip on his formal attire? Did he spill something on his tux during cocktail hour forcing his outfit change? Was this a casual poolside affair and Harry was preparing for a dip? (We checked: There's no pool in the aerial shots of the wedding venue.)
The couple likely met on set of the upcoming thriller Don’t Worry Darling, in which Styles and Florence Pugh star as a 1950s couple hiding dark secrets. Wilde serves as the film's director and producer. News broke in September 2020 that Styles was replacing Shia LaBeouf in the leading role—something Wilde was thrilled about.
"[Costume designer Arianne Phillips] and I did a little victory dance when we heard that we officially had Harry in the film, because we knew that he has a real appreciation for fashion and style," she told Vogue for its December issue. "To me, he’s very modern and I hope that this brand of confidence as a male that Harry has—truly devoid of any traces of toxic masculinity—is indicative of his generation and therefore the future of the world. I think he is in many ways championing that, spearheading that. It’s pretty powerful and kind of extraordinary to see someone in his position redefining what it can mean to be a man with confidence."
Wilde was previously engaged to Jason Sudekis for more than seven years. They reportedly amicably split in January and continue to co-parent their two kids, Otis Alexander, 6, and a daughter, Daisy Josephine, 4, together. Styles was most recently linked to model Camille Rowe. (They ended things in 2018.)
Here's hoping the Don't Worry Darling press tour is filled with plenty of matching couple bathrobe moments.
