Since the initial news broke, conflicting reports have surfaced. Over the weekend, a source close to the couple told People that they had been "on the rocks" for some time before reports of their breakup hit the news.
"They have been on the rocks for almost three months now. They've been trying to keep it together for the kids but everyone knew it wasn't going to work," the source said. "They were going to buy a mega-mansion together and then that didn't happen, once they backed out of the deal all their friends down here [in Miami] knew."
On Saturday morning, however, the couple released a brief statement on the issue, denying that they had split, but seeming to confirm that they were, indeed, having issues and offering few other details. "All the reports are inaccurate," the statement, obtained by TMZ Saturday, read. "We are working through some things."
Also on Saturday, Page Six reported that the couple had been "up all night talking" after news of the split broke, presumably working on, among other things, the brief statement TMZ shared.
A source close to the couple echoed the sentiments expressed in their brief statement, saying, "They are trying to work through things…but it’s unclear if that means they are staying together."
Only time will tell what the future holds for J.Lo and A-Rod, and all we can do is trust that whatever decision they make is the one that's best for them and their respective families.
