Miley Cyrus is performing on The Tonight Show every night this week and, on Monday night, she performed a song she hasn't sung in years in honor of the victims of the Las Vegas shooting: "The Climb."
On Instagram, Miley explained the song choice in an emotional post.
"In honor of the lives lost , injured and affected by the tragic shooting in Vegas, @fallontonight I dedicated this show to not only mourning this horrific event but using this platform to encourage unity , peace hopefulness!" she wrote. "So we started this week off with a song I haven't performed in years ... #TheClimb . These words mean more now to me than ever ... " Keep The Faith" ..... Sending love to ALL! That wasn't the only moment in the show the singer took to address the devastating mass shooting that left 58 dead and hundreds injured. Miley opened the show with a cover of Dido's "No Freedom," accompanied by Adam Sandler on guitar.
