Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Having an Abortion

Nicki Minaj covers the new issue of Rolling Stone in a very precariously placed tank top, and though she looks amazing, as usual, the pictures are nothing compared to what she says inside the magazine. 

When the star's song "All Things Go" came out earlier this month, people began speculating that Nicki had lost a baby when she was younger because of the lyrical reference to a child who "would have been sixteen any minute." Now, in her RS interview, Nicki confirms that she did get pregnant when she was in high school and that her pregnancy ended in abortion.

"I thought I was going to die," Nicki told Rolling Stone of finding out she was pregnant. "I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I'd ever gone through." She said her choice to end the pregnancy has "haunted me all my life," but that she felt it was the right decision for her as a high-school student. "It'd be contradictory if I said I wasn't pro-choice," she explained. "I wasn't ready. I didn't have anything to offer a child." 

Nicki said she wanted to get more personal on The Pinkprint, which is largely about the end of her 11-year relationship with Safaree Samuels. "One of my goals was to give people a glimpse into my personal life, because it's something I've kept very private," she said. "I decided there's no reason for me to hide. I'm a vulnerable woman, and I'm proud of that."
