Jim Carrey's Ex-Girlfriend's Heartbreaking Suicide Note Mentioned Their Breakup
A new report uncovers details about her death.
Heartbreaking new details have emerged about the tragic suicide of Jim Carrey's former girlfriend, Cathriona White, in September 2015.
People has obtained White's autopsy and toxicology reports, which included a suicide note addressed to Carrey. The toxicology report confirms that her death was a suicide, and White was found with a number of prescription pills in her system, including propranolol, which treats high blood pressure and chest pain, zolpidem, also known as Ambien, and two painkillers, oxycodone and oxymorphone.
The report notes that three prescription bottles prescribed to Arthur King were found on White's bedside table, in addition to pills prescribed to White. According to texts found by police between White and Carrey, Carrey asked her if she "knew where his painkillers went from under his sink." The texts also revealed that Carrey was missing a bottle of anti-inflammatories. The report stated that it is likely the bottles for "Arthur King" were the prescriptions Carrey was referring to.
White was found with a suicide note addressed to Carrey when she died, still reeling from their recent breakup. "I've spent 3 days now in disbelief that you're not here. I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don't have the will this time," she wrote. "Please forgive me. I'm just not for this world."
"Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was loved deeply by her entire family," her family said in an emotional statement following her death. White sent this heartbreaking final tweet:

Carrey, who was "shocked and deeply saddened" by the news at the time, and White had recently split before her death. They dated in 2012 for a few months before reconnecting in May 2015. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled," Carrey said in a statement. "My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
