Read Serena Williams' Facebook Post on Police Brutality

Police violence against people of color is a problem that we cannot ignore—and—sorry, Donald Trump—but racist policies like Stop and Frisk aren't the answer. Making tangible change to systemic prejudice is not a simple task, but a good starting point is listening. Specifically, listening to men and women who fear for their lives, and the lives of their loved ones. Which brings us to this heartbreaking Facebook post from Serena Williams.

The tennis champion hit social media to add her voice to the countless others admonishing police brutality, and said she experienced a moment of fear for her nephew's life when they were driving in a car and passed a police officer.

"I quickly checked to see if he was obliging by the speed limit. Than I remembered that horrible video of the woman in the car when a cop shot her boyfriend. All of this went through my mind in a matter of seconds. I even regretted not driving myself. I would never forgive myself if something happened to my nephew. He's so innocent. So were all 'the others'"
