Please grab a sweater, because Demi Lovato just hurled a massive cloud of pretty chilly shade over to Taylor Swift. When asked about Swift, the "Confident" singer—who has long been an advocate of body positivity—questioned the friend group for promoting unrealistic body image goals, saying, "To be honest, and this will probably get me in trouble, but I don't see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It's kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it's not real."
Of course, the definition of "normal" is totally subjective and all bodies should be celebrated. That said, let's move on to Demi's comments about Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. To quote: "I think having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that's not women's empowerment. We all do things that aren't, but I have to ask myself, 'am I content with calling myself a feminist?' Yes, because I speak out."
Demi is of course referring to Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video, which is rumored to be about her long-standing feud with Perry. Probably a good time to re-watch this classic and ponder life's important questions.
