Chelsea Handler Says the Kardashians Are to Blame for Donald Trump's Win

On Friday, a reality-TV star with absolutely zero political experience and scandal after scandal surrounding him will be inaugurated as president. So how did this happen, exactly? In an interview with Variety, comedian Chelsea Handler offered up a new group to blame: the Kardashian-Jenners.

Handler blamed the reality-tv culture, and said the media covered him as a celebrity, not as a politician. And she specifically blamed a family that used to be her colleagues over at E!:

"They were treating him as an entertainer first. It was a reality show. We've turned into a reality show. I blame the Kardashians, personally; the beginning of the end was the Kardashians. The way these people have blown up and don't go away—it's surreal. Everyone is for sale."

Pretty fitting given that Kanye West said he would have voted for Trump, had he voted at all. Oh yeah, and then met with the guy at Trump Tower. But in the end, Handler says she wants to use her position to figure out what made people vote for Trump in the first place. "I think our job as entertainers—or my job—is to reach across and figure out the people who are so disenchanted that they voted for him, and try to find some common ground," she said. And common ground is a good goal for everyone, regardless of politics.
