The Cast of 'The Nevers' Plays 'How Well Do You Know Your Co-Star?'

Buffy the Vampire Slayer stans rejoice: another supernatural series has arrived. The Nevers takes place in late Victorian-era England, three years after an inexplicable paranormal event left people “touched” with strange (and sometimes useless) powers. After a rise in anti-touched sentiment erupts, best friends and fellow “Touched” Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) ban together to defend those who have been all but ostracized from society. Rounding out the cast is Olivia Williams, James Norton, and Tom Riley.

The latest HBO offering uses several of Buffy's favorite devices—most notably, a group working together to fight evil and repudiate misogynistic injustice. We at Marie Claire were interested to see how well how all that banding together onscreen translated to offscreen so we sat down with Donnelly, Skelly, Norton, and Riley for our classic trivia game, “How Well Do You Know Co-Star?”

My favorite intriguing fact we learned: Laura Donnelly can vomit on demand. There’s also a Swiftie in the house (are you shocked?). And one of them fulfilled all our political dreams by once meeting President Barack Obama. It also looks like Riley has the best listening skills and/or guessing skills of the troupe.
