When it comes to authors, there are bestsellers...and then there's Colleen Hoover. In just over a decade, the novelist affectionately dubbed "CoHo" by her legions of fans has racked up (count 'em!) a whopping 27 titles, the sales for which overtook even the Bible in 2022.

Her 2016 novel, It Ends With Us, was adapted into a 2024 movie starring Blake Lively and became the highest-grossing romantic drama in years, raking in nearly $350 million. It introduced her work to even more readers—and that's just the first of many of her books getting the blockbuster treatment. Later this year, A-listers Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway will topline the adaptation of Verity.

But still, fans can't put her written words down. Hoover's latest book, Woman Down, went straight to the top of The New York Times Best Sellers list following a three-year writing hiatus.

Having penned everything from steamy erotic novels and heartwarming love stories to dark, gripping thrillers, you'll have your work cut out for you when it comes to selecting one of Hoover's stories. That's precisely why we're taking a deep dive into her five series and 11 standalone novels to see which are the very best Colleen Hoover books.

From Slammed, a.k.a. the 2012 self-published Amazon debut that started it all, to the It Ends With Us sequel, It Starts With Us—which helped Hoover break a record as the author with the most titles on the New York Times Best Seller list at one time—here are the best Colleen Hoover books, ranked.

Every Colleen Hoover Novel, Ranked

What is Colleen Hoover's most popular, best-selling book?

It should come as no surprise that Colleen Hoover’s best-selling book of all time is (drum roll, please): It Ends With Us. A full four months before the film’s August 2024 release, the novel had already sold over 6 million copies, according to Forbes. By September 2024, Hoover’s publisher, Simon Schuster, revealed that the number had increased to 10 million, with more than 800,000 copies sold in the U.S. alone.

It was also a massive critical success, spending over 170 weeks on The New York Times Best Seller list.

Which of Colleen Hoover's books are being made into movies?

In addition to It Ends With Us, which earned a cool $349.7 million worldwide, as reported by Deadline, several of Hoover’s other novels have received, or will soon get, the silver screen treatment.

In October 2025, Regretting You, starring Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Scott Eastwood, and Willa Fitzgerald, was released.

Reminders of Him follows in March 2026. The project, directed by Vanessa Caswill and featuring a screenplay by Lauren Levine (Bridge to Terabithia) and Hoover herself, will see indie darling Maika Monroe and up-and-comer Tyriq Withers as the beloved Kenna and Ledger.

Said Hoover said in a statement, "I am thrilled to be working with Universal to bring Kenna Rowan’s world to life. I hear from many readers who tell me they found something of themselves in her story of living with and through tragedy and doing the often messy and imperfect work of healing and turning the page to a fresh chapter in life."

Last but not least is Verity, which is directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick, The Idea of You) and set for release on October 2, 2026, according to IMDb. This one boasts some big-time Hollywood star power, including Anne Hathaway, Josh Hartnett, and Dakota Johnson, who was photographed with fake blood running down her face for a crucial scene in the flick.

2015’s Confess was also previously adapted into a 2017 Prime series starring Katie Leclerc and Ryan Cooper.
