Milla Jovovich Signs on for the Film Adaptation of George R.R. Martin's Trippy Short Stories

These days, everybody's like, "Hurry and finish writing The Winds of Winter so we can find out what happens, George R.R. Martin." But long before he was that Game of Thrones guy who produces new work too slowly for the world's liking (we know how that feels, buddy), he wrote a bunch of obscure short stories that are now being made into a movie starring Milla Jovovich.

The Constantin Werner-directed film, according to a post on the author's LiveJournal, will feature three separate plot lines under the title In the Lost Lands. Jovovich will play the badass sorceress Gray Alys, who's sent on a mission into the ghostly ether to obtain the gift of shape-shifting into a werewolf. In the other two stories, a female warrior named Sharra battles a dragon to reunite with her lost lover, and a witch on a derelict spacecraft enchants a young barbarian girl. Told you it was trippy.

"It's a thrill to have her be a part of this, and I will look forward to seeing her bring Gray Alys to life," Martin wrote on his website. "Maybe I will be so inspired that I'll finally write those other Gray Alys stories...but no, not until I finish A Song of Ice and Fire, calm down, friends." At least you know he's working on it.
