Kesha Fans Buy an Ad on Pandora Telling Sony to Drop Dr. Luke

Kesha's fans are taking a bold stand to defend the pop star. Women's advocacy group UltraViolet bought ad space on Pandora telling Sony to drop Dr. Luke, the music producer Kesha has accused of sexually and emotionally abusing her.

"Sony can free Kesha and take a stand against rape culture," the ad says. "Tell Sony to drop Dr. Luke."

Dr. Luke has denied that he raped Kesha. And a New York Supreme Court judge has denied her request to terminate her contract with the producer. But Kesha has appealed that decision and is back to writing music—although she may not be able to release it for a while. 

The women's advocacy group, which has also created a petition urging Sony to drop Dr. Luke, continues to be vocal in support of Kesha.

"Kesha has been struggling for years to be free from the influence of her abuser—and that struggle is still ongoing," Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet, said in a statement to Teen Vogue. "While reports from unnamed insiders have implied that Sony Music is exploring ways to cut ties to Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records, short of a public announcement from Sony Music CEO Doug Morris, only one thing remains true: Kesha isn't free."
