Dolce Gabbana Launches #DGLovesAustralia Project
#DGLovesAustralia, announced last month, will support Australia and those affected by the recent violent fires.
It has been just a month since Australia's massive wildfires have stopped burning. With an estimated 50 million acres burned, the deaths of more than one billion animals, at least 34 humans, and nearly 6,000 homes and other structures destroyed, the effects of the wildfires have been absolutely devastating. Australia has a long road of recovery ahead as it looks to rebuild in the wake of tragedy. Dolce Gabbana is standing in solidarity with Australia by launching #DGLovesAustralia to support the country and those affected by the recent violent fires.
For the project, Dolce Gabbana designed an exclusive T-shirt with proceeds from the sales going to support the Australian organization Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR) to help the areas devastated by the recent fires. The Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal is a non-profit organization, that "harnesses the power of collective investment between government, business and philanthropy to improve the lives of those living in rural, regional and remote Australia," Dolce Gabbana shared in a statement. FRRR has provided aid to disaster-affected communities for years, contributing over $19 million to recovery and preparedness initiatives since 2006.
The design of the shirt, depicts the Waratah, the flower of Australia, under the #DGLovesAustralia Project slogan.
