    In Buying Guides

I don't like to plan my seasonal purchases ahead of time. I like to sit back, observe those around me, and then make my decisions. While I'm in the business of predicting trends, some don't always come to fruition or align with my style, so I like to think through my investments before I go all in. Inevitably, this makes me late to the game when incorporating seasonal trends into my wardrobe, but I'd rather be thoughtful with my purchases.

I'm pleased to report my spring scouting has come to a close, and I'm ready to dive in. Below, you'll discover the 20 spring pieces that made the cut. I've included trending prints and colorways (think polka dots and butter yellow) and evergreen wardrobe staples, such as the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn and the buzzy sneakers spotted all over NYC. All these pieces come from SSENSE, a retailer that knows what's cool season after season. To shop my favorites from its new arrivals, keep reading.

    Light Layers

Light-jacket weather is a joyous but fleeting occasion. We get about a month to wear this kind of outerwear, but this short timeline never stops me from purchasing a few new pieces. This year, I've got my eyes on trenches, barn coats, and sportier styles. These four fit the bill perfectly.

    Flat Footwear

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: I'm so grateful flat shoes are having a moment. I live in NYC, so it's imperative I have stylish yet comfortable footwear, and these four options are the right mix. Ruched loafers, jelly sandals, Solomon sneakers, and flip-flops are already everywhere this season.

    Trending Bags

Last but not least, we have the best part of any look. These four bags are my picks of the season. I love an east-west shape, a straw fabric, and an unexpected colorway. Don't make me choose a favorite—I'd like to make all of them mine.
