This New York Fashion Week, brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Diane von Furstenberg, Cult Gaia, and Tory Burch aren't the only ones painting the town red. Outside the Spring 2027 runway shows, fashion insiders, editors, and celebrities have transformed the street style circuit into a sea of strawberry, crimson, and tomato.

It's tradition for a hue or two to emerge as New York Fashion Week's top color trend. Back in Sept. 2025, it was all about the burgundy. Last February, showgoers at Fall 2026 fêtes boarded the chocolate brown bandwagon. Now, whether guests are wearing head-to-toe tomato or splashes of scarlet, there are as many red pieces running rampant around NYFW as there are spectators.

The red takeover tiptoed its way into Manhattan on the eve of NYFW, popping Elle Fanning's leather pencil skirt at Coach, Ella Hunt's uber-buttoned blazer, and embroidery on Cynthia Erivo's military jacket at Ralph Lauren. (At the same time, Rachel Comey introduced fire hydrant-tinted hosiery and Cult Gaia traded beige for red bralettes.)

Once the official Day 1 of spring 2027 runway showcases began, the pigment became the not-so-subtle superstar of pre- and post-show step-and-repeats. But which shade came out on top? The perennial color (endorsed by Alaïa, Balenciaga, Hermès, and more for Fall 2026) that remains as popular today as it was in 2023 is tomato red.

During NYFW last September, Katie Holmes paired a ripened Metier purse with matching high-vamp flats. Fast forward to the current calendar of events—which run from Sept. 10 to 15—and you can't walk a single block without shifting your attention to an unmissable shade of red on billowy blouses, steamed polo shirts, and wedding guest-worthy dresses.

That's not to say tomato is the only Fashion Week-worthy red. Before Tommy Hilfiger's spring runway show (which sprinkled the color onto rugby shirts, button-downs, boat totes, and even baseball caps), A-listers proved every tone of the color trend has daily dressing potential.

First up? Camila Cabello, who shade-matched the sweater draped over her shoulders to a knitted mini skirt. Soon after, Lana Condor tested the same Kendall Jenner-approved layering hack by wearing a strawberry cable-knit cardigan with a white T-shirt, a navy blue jacket, and wide-leg jeans. Peep the same eye-catching color on her manicure.

Once the first model graced the New York-based brand's catwalk, Gigi Hadid reminded spectators that red has always been her shade. (Her own knitwear label, Guest In Residence, is constantly adding tomato attire to its catalog—and therefore, the founder's regular rotation.) She opened the Tommy Hilfiger show in baggy bottoms that matched the brand's logo.

After all 69 looks walked the runway (most of which featured at least a sprinkle of red), an off-duty Hadid was photographed outside, wearing a vintage Tommy Hilfiger baseball tee in an almost identical dye.

On Sept. 11, when the NYFW spotlight switched to Michael Kors, the color trend took over the VIP-filled front row. So much so, it seemed like the revered New York designer made it his dress code. Everyone from Kathryn Newton and Ashe to Gabrielle Union and Lisa Rinna frosted themselves in the fresh-from-the-garden tint.

There's no doubt that Union and Rinna wore the most red, though. While the Bring It On actor stacked a tomato sweater-turned-shawl over an identical sweater dress, the reality star posed in a knee-length ruby look that was more feathers than actual fabric.

Meanwhile, deeper shades of red offset the overwhelming majority of tomato attire.

If the red street style series is this ripe in September, it's bound to be a successful holiday season for the shade. Unfortunately, Holmes's bag—Strathberry's Crescent Shoulder Bag in Vanilla—is no longer available, although fans of the brand's distinctive style can still shop similar items.

Both Princess Kate and Meghan Markle are Strathberry fans and have been photographed with the label's bags on numerous occasions. Unsurprisingly, Holmes effortlessly pulled off the royally-approved style alongside the purple-and-red color trend.

The Les Misérables star arrived at Le Chalet in Manhattan on Friday, April 25, holding hands with her husband Adam Shulman. Underneath her chic duster coat, Hathaway wore a Michael Kors Floral Sequin Stretch Scuba Mini Dress, which retails for $398. The mini dress added a little sparkle to the Oscar-winning actress's already regal outfit, while she carried a silver Bulgari Serpenti Forever Clutch and wore a pair of silver peep-toe platform heels.

Earlier this month, Hathaway made waves when she attended the Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2025 fashion show in New York City. It was the actress's AI-inspired ponytail that caught everyone's attention, as it perfectly accentuated Hathaway's cheekbones. "We were trying to create an AI-inspired version of Anne," Orlando Pita, the hairstylist behind the look, told Marie Claire's Ariel Baker. Irina Shayk is currently in Paris for Fashion Week, where she appears to have been exceedingly busy. The Russian model updated fans on Tuesday, October 1, by sharing a carousel of photos and video clips on Instagram captured throughout her time in Paris. One particularly revealing snap showed Shayk posing topless for a mirror selfie.

"Rehearsing dattt Last day of PFW," Shayk captioned her Instagram post. As well as showing off her runway walk and revealing what it's like to be photographed by the paparazzi, Shayk stripped down to a thong for a steamy mirror selfie. With the floor around her littered with clothes, Shayk held her hand over her breasts to take a picture while posing in front of a mirror.

Alongside her successful modeling career, Shayk shares a daughter, Lea, with her ex Bradley Cooper. In an interview with ELLE in 2023, Shayk discussed what it's like co-parenting with the Oscar nominated actor.

"We both take Lea everywhere with us," the supermodel explained. "She’s super easy. Two days ago, I had to go to the gym, so I just got her a drawing book and said, 'Mama’s working out.' She was drawing for an hour."

Shayk continued, "Then we went to the Michael Kors fitting. She met all the girls. Michael gave her a bag. She drew him a kitty cat."

Regardless of their busy work schedules, both Shayk and Cooper seem to prioritize their daughter. "We always find a way," she told the publication.

Blake Lively is a fashion queen—especially when it comes to Michael Kors.

The actress just showed up to the designer's latest show in New York on Feb. 13, and made an undeniable case for giraffe print.

For the NYFW event, Lively wore a white and brown animal print trench coat and matching mini skirt with a simple brown shirt and square-toed brown knee boots. As the kids might say, she ate and left not one crumb.

The Gossip Girl alum attended the show alongside her sister Robyn Lively, and sat in the front row with all your usual suspects: Anna Wintour, Brie Larson, Rachel Brosnahan, Katie Holmes, and Gabrielle Union, among others.

During the event, Lively spoke to Vogue about her love of fashion—which she joked is getting a little out of hand these days.

"I’m a hoarder, but I like to call it a collector," she said. "It’s a real problem. I need to stop."

The actress has a long-standing relationship with Michael Kors, which she also addressed in her conversation with Vogue.

"He was the first person who showed up for me, and included me, and invited me to the party," she said. "So I will always and forever show up for him."

It's not the first time Lively has expressed her enduring gratitude for the designer.

In her end-of-year Instagram post for 2023, she joked, "Only @michaelkors could get me to squeeze into gold sequins way too soon after having a baby."

And in 2020, she declared, "@michaelkors I will get outta pajamas for you, and only you, any day."
