How to Make a Moscow Mule Like a Pro
A true classic.
For the uninitiated, the 75-year old Moscow Mule cocktail is a happy place for faithful vodka drinkers who crave something beyond their favorite college bar orders, but don't necessarily want to switch up their liquor of choice (because we remember what happened the last time we tried tequila). It's also an essential for lazy girls who are looking for something tasty and easy to shake up (three or four ingredients and you're good to go 🙏).
The drink tastes fizzy and tangy, with a hint of sweetness and spice all at once, while of course bringing on the buzz. Many bars serve the cocktail in a copper mug to keep it cold (which is why it's one of the prettiest of bar drinks), but a standard glass tumbler works just as well. Follow along below to find out how to mix this classic drink for yourself.
- 2 oz. Smirnoff Vodka
- 4 oz. Premium Ginger Beer
- 1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice (or squeeze half of a lime)
- Garnish: Wedge of Lime
- Ice (optional)
- Copper Mug or Collins Glass (AKA a glass tumbler)
How to Make One:
Add ice to copper mug or glass followed by the vodka and a slight squeeze of the lime wedge. Top with premium ginger beer and garnish with a fresh lime wedge. And if you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side, A) we feel you and B) there's no harm in adding some simple syrup to taste. Lastly, sip and enjoy!
