Who Is Naomi Biden, Joe Biden's Granddaughter?

President Joe Biden has always made clear that his number one priority is his family. He has seven grandchildren, with several of them playing key roles in his 2020 campaign, but perhaps the one he's been seen with most often is his beloved granddaughter Naomi Biden. The 26-year-old Columbia law student and daughter of President Biden's son Hunter is an important person to the president-elect. She was named after President Biden's late daughter Naomi, who he lost in a tragic car accident in 1972, and she's very close with her grandfather. So—what do we know about her?
Naomi is passionate about politics.
When President Biden was serving as vice president, Naomi went on several different international trips with her grandparents, visiting countries such as New Zealand, Turkey, China, and more.

She's active on Twitter, showing her support for her grandfather as well as facing the criticism against him head-on. In a Twitter thread last year, Naomi addressed claims that her grandfather wasn't progressive enough. She warned that if they decide not to vote against Donald Trump in the fall, they should "apologize to the children who have been separated from their parents, put in cages, and robbed of their future."
Well into her grandfather's presidency, Naomi continues to remain active on Twitter (though she's definitely tweeting a little less frequently, hence the "tweets permanently pending approval" in her bio), praising President Biden on his joint congressional address in April.
Naomi is close with her cousins—Biden's other grandchildren.
The Biden grandchildren have a very tight-knit relationship, as seen during President Biden and Vice President Harris's inauguration in January. Naomi considers Natalie Biden, daughter of the late Beau Biden, her "mini me" and emphasizes the grandchildren's bond in this Instagram post.

Naomi has a serious boyfriend.
Naomi has been dating fellow law student Peter Neal for a few years now. According to Guest of Guest, he previously attended Penn Law and interned for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and at the White House when President Obama was in office.
They both have a knack for helping people, and created a website featuring a quiz that allows people to see if they qualify to receive aid on the CARES Act. It's currently helped more than 10,000 people and counting get assistance from the $2.2 trillion stimulus package.
The couple told MTV News it took a total of almost 48 hours to read through all 335 pages, create the quiz, and to code the website. The only time they rested? To sleep three hours each night. "It was either that or watch Curb Your Enthusiasm for the third time in a row," Naomi told MTV News.
She's kinda friends with Tiffany Trump.
I know what you're thinking: Is this an episode of Black Mirror? Tiffany Trump posted a photo with Naomi back in 2018 during a weekend trip in the Hamptons on her Instagram story. The black-and-white photo was captioned "@naomibiden," and featured a pink and purple heart emoji.
Surprisingly, this wasn't just for show—the two women go way back. They both attended the University of Pennsylvania at the same time, with Tiffany receiving a degree in international relations and Naomi earning a degree in sociology. (Maybe they had late-night study sessions together?) At their graduation in 2016, both President Biden and former President Trump were there to see each respective family member receive their diploma. Talk about foreshadowing.
