Anthony Weiner's Wife Huma Does Her Best Hillary Clinton Impression

On Tuesday, NYC mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner's wife Huma Abedin said that she's forgiven her husband for his sexting scandals, the latest of which went public this week. Today, Weiner said at a press conference that "he may have engaged in online sexual relationships with up to three women since resigning from Congress in 2011," reported Politico. This most recent media firestorm is brought to us by a woman who, this week, stated that she had participated in a year-long sexually explicit online relationship with Weiner after the former Democratic congressman stepped down. And while Weiner claims he had engaged in a total of six to 10 relationships, he (thankfully) declined to give specifics. That's not a pretty picture, literally.

So why does Abedin continue to stand by her man if he's proven to be and admitted to have been unfaithful? "It was not an easy choice in any way, but I made the decision that it was worth staying in this marriage," she said during Tuesday's public statement. "That was a decision I made for me, for our son and for our family. I didn't know how it would work out, but I did know that I wanted to give it a try." Further, Abedin said, "I love him, I have forgiven him, I believe in him, and as we have said from the beginning, we are moving forward."

Jenny Sanford, the former wife of onetime scandalized politician Rep. Mark Sanford, offered words of encouragement to Abedin during this undoubtedly overwhelming time. "As a person and as a woman and as a wife, I've been through the painful reality of marriage with a troubled individual and having it in the press," Sanford told the Washington Post. "My heart goes out to her."
