Welcome to MarieClaire.com's series on weekend travel—a smart girl's guide to making the most of those glorious two days off.

Ah, Cabo. The infamous hot spot for spring breakers, party-goers, and most notoriously, the cast of Laguna Beach. If you're looking for an elevated trip a little less rum-infused than the Caribbean, the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula is the way to go. Although primarily known for sunsets, golf courses, and spas, Cabo San Lucas has an inviting Mexican cantina feel unlike any other. Below is a quick cheat sheet of the best (and hottest) places to stop by on your visit.

    Where to Stay:

Nobu Hotel Los Cabos: The 200-room property is one of the most luxurious hotels in the area. Drawing design inspiration from the Japanese aesthetic of the Nobu brand, the 60 new residences and multiple restaurants and bars are nothing short of spectacular. Be sure to get the healing volcanic stone massage while there, one of the most sought-out beauty treatments in town. And the oceanfront view—from almost every angle—isn't bad either.

    Where to Drink:

La Revolución: This stunning spot is known for its specialty cocktails and focuses on pairing food with said cocktails, like other restaurants might pair wine. Be sure to try their famous (and namesake!) drink, La Revolución, which has mezcal chile poblano liquor, sesame oil, and green seed powder. Another noteworthy drink, The Street Dog, comes in Campbell's soup cans.

Baja Brewing Company: If you're in need of a change-up from the nightly routine of tacos and margaritas, Baja Brewery Company may be just what you're looking for. The eight different styles of craft beer alone make the visit worthwhile, but with seating available in the outdoor beer garden and live music performances, it just doesn't get any better. Located at the rooftop terrace of the Cabo Villas hotel, the brewery overlooks the marina, making it perfect for a quick beer with friends or a more romantic night for two.

    What to Do:

Flora Farms: If you're looking to get into something a bit more hands-on, take a tour of Flora Farms—one of the most scenic destinations you'll come across on your trip. The ten-acre organic farm grows all of its own fruits, vegetables and even raises its own chickens. Flora Farms serves up some of the healthiest and freshest food in Cabo. Be sure to grab some post-tour fuel at Field Kitchen restaurant, which whips up meals all made with ingredients grown on site. Doesn't get much fresher than that.

Gallery District: Each Thursday, preview some of Cabos best art galleries and head downtown to one of the most historic neighborhoods for Art Walk. Held 5-9 p.m. every Thursday between November and June, the streets close to car traffic and participants walk around the tight district (about only four blocks) and explore the many exhibits. The Gallery District hosts only Mexican artists, so you're able to really get a feel for the culture. Not into the art? Delve into the street food, shops, bars, and, best of all, mariachi bands.

Playa Palmilla (Palmilla Beach): Located near the One Only Palmilla resort, this white sand beach offers a tranquil little oasis. The beach's calm waters offer the perfect spot for those seeking water sports or just a leisurely swim, to come and explore.
