Buenos Aires—the very name of the city invokes warm, nostalgic images of steamy Tango dancing and authentic epicurean delicacies, all in a lush city where past meets present. Steeped as it is in Latin influence, the Argentine city has undeniable Euro-charm with its Belle Epoque architecture, bustle of fusion restaurants, and buzzing night-time revelers. With this unique yet recognizable homage to Madrid, New York, and even a touch of Paris, for the intrepid traveler, the city gives way immediately and welcomes all into its breezy embrace.

Here we offer up a sample of musts for the best places to stay, eat, drink, and play, and sleep in one of the globe's brightest and most welcoming cities.

    To Stay

Palacio Duhau (Park Hyatt Buenos Aires): Located in Recoleta, one of the most fashionable neighborhoods in the city, the Park Hyatt is just a walk away from the Colon Theater, Museum of Latin American Art (MALBA), and the Recoleta Cemetery—all of which are some of the most noteworthy places to see. Feel like staying in? The new hotel has a state of the art spa, an impressive art gallery, and a stunning garden terrace to help pass the time.

Faena Hotel: A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the Faena Hotel certainly holds up to its name. Located in Puerto Madero, it's a quick walk to some of the city's biggest attractions. Complete with daily yoga and meditation classes as well as an art center, a stay at the Faena will leave you feeling both excited and relaxed.

    To Eat

La Cabrera: If you're looking to try authentic Argentine meat, this is the spot to do it. Frequented by locals, celebs, and everyone in between (the Rolling Stones were spotted here last year), they've served the city some of the best meat for 50 years. Vegetarian? Snack on the grilled provolone and some other veg-friendly options. Lucky for us, they should be opening one in Miami later this year.

Corrientes Avenue: Late night? Head to Corrientes Ave to soak up some of tomorrow's headache. The street is lined with a vast array of pizza shops, but the standout is Guerrin Pizza, a local favorite. The avenue is also a full of a number of different bookstores and theaters.

La Mar: For traditional Peruvian ceviche in Palermo, one of Buenos Aires' trendiest neighborhoods. Be sure to try the Suspiro Limeño, a Peruvian dessert made with condensed milk and cinnamon. La Mar makes for a good Friday night spot for the start to any girls (or guys) night out.

Café La Biela: Ready for some Celeb sightings? Take a table outside at the Famous café, La Biela. Located in Recoleta's Plaza Francia, it's an ideal spot for a snack the afternoon or a glass of wine as the day is winding down. Be sure to try some medialunas or alfajores.

Teatro Colón: Buenos Aires is actually home to some of the best productions in the world. Come see the great shows the city has to offer in this exquisite theater. The 2,487 seats go quick, but follow them on Facebook for notifications on how and when to get free tickets.

Doppelganger Bar: This intimate little spot has an extensive menu of specialty gourmet cocktails making this place a go-to date spot.

Nicky Harrison: Tucked behind a sushi restaurant, this secret speakeasy is one of the best kept secrets in town. Super elusive, this is the ideal place for a night cap. If you do nothing else, be sure to try the Pisco Brûlée. Totally worth it.
