Maya Thomas is Who What Wear's soon-to-be New York City-based assistant beauty editor who specializes in trend reporting, fragrance writing, and skincare. She currently produces a monthly beauty column, Gen Z Says, highlighting the influence of social media-driven trends on the beauty industry. Before joining Who What Wear’s editorial team, she attended Loyola Marymount University where she studied English Literature and Journalism in addition to writing for the school’s Her Campus chapter. Following her graduation, Thomas began her career as a freelance shopping editor for Parade Magazine. When she’s not writing or experimenting with different skincare solutions and luxury fragrances, her time is dedicated to reading the classics, floating through museum galleries (she especially enjoys spending slow mornings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art), and taking part in cafe culture. Whenever possible, she uses her writing to explore the complex relationship between history, sociology, and the beauty industry.
