The end of May signifies the beginning of my two favorite times of year: summer and sale season. The latter has already started thanks to the kickoff of major savings events like the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale. You can catch it twice a year, and this spring it's happening from Wednesday, May 22, to Sunday, June 2, so it's definitely time to start saving your favorites to your shopping basket. All you need to know is that a wide range of beauty-editor favorites are offered for a lot less than they usually are and will definitely be flying off the shelves.
To help you get a head start on your shopping, I've pulled together a list of all my favorite discounted skincare, haircare, makeup, and beauty tools that will be available for purchase during the event. Skincare
Gift yourself with glowing, healthy-looking skin all summer long with the Smooth Skin Essentials kit by Kiehl's. It features some of my favorites, including the gentle retinol serum and best-selling moisturizer that helps to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while restoring hydration to the skin.
Caffeine, niacinamide, and rice extracts make this eye cream a do-it-all product. It targets dark circled, fine lines, and wrinkles while also depuffing, tightening, and brightening.
This luxe face mist can also be used to refresh your body (even your linens). It's a blend of therapeutic essential oils like neroli and rose, as well as lactobacillus ferment, which is a probiotic that helps the skin maintain a healthy balance.
Makeup
I love adding a wash of color over my eyelids whenever I want to elevate a makeup look, and this is the easiest way to do it. Laura Mercier's Caviar Stick Eye Color lasts for 12 hours and has a crease- and transfer-resistant finish that rivals all other cream-based eye shadows I have in my collection.
Liquid lipstick is a must if you're constantly on the go and exposed to near-constant rain like I am in the Pacific Northwest. Here's one that has a hydrating formula, a creamy feel, and a matte finish that won't budge. While not every shade will available for a discounted price, my go-to is 208 Venetian Red.
Transforming your daytime makeup to your nighttime adventures is easy with YSL's Satin Crush Mono Eyeshadow. A quick swipe of this on the lid delivers epic, satin-finish shine designed to complement any eye color. The one on sale, 27 Decadent Bronze, is especially eye-catching.
Bath and Body
You can never have too match lip balm on hand to restore the moisture your lips need while on the go. This one by Bobbi Brown is comfortable to wear and non-greasy and comes in a portable polished silver tin. Its formula includes beeswax, a natural emollient, and aloe vera to help smooth lips.
This dual-purpose scalp and body scrub smells delightful, like a mint chocolate milkshake. What really makes it special is the combination of hydrating sugar, soothing peppermint oil, and exfoliating coconut shell and rice powder.
