New York Fashion Week S/S '27 is winding down in NYC, and unsurprisingly, the street style set has not disappointed. Editors, creators, and buyers are rushing all around Manhattan (and parts of Brooklyn) to view the upcoming season's collections from buzzy designers like Henry Zankov (who made his debut as the new creative director of Diane Von Furstenberg), Daniella Kallmeyer, Jamie Haller, Maria McManus, Tory Burch and more. As a beauty editor, my eyes are always trained on the hair and makeup moments, especially for the attendees outside the shows, and I'm happy to report that the best street style beauty looks are offering up plenty of inspiration.
Although the New York weather has been behaving itself, the crowds proved that updos are having a moment, specifically chignons—both messy and sleek—braided pigtails, and all variations of the ponytail. Bare skin is also a common sighting this season, with radiant complexions on models and show-goers alike. The occasional pop of color on the lips is another welcome addition to the fashion party.
For more of the week's best beauty looks, keep scrolling, and check back here over the next few days for all the hair, makeup, and nail inspiration you need to enter fall in style.
The Best New York Fashion Week Street Style Beauty Looks
On the Low
It's official: low ponytails are having a honest to god comeback this season, and adding this sliver of silver is the perfect way to elevate the look.
Half 'n Half
I never thought I'd see the '90s staple half-up half-down get the high fashion treatment, but this braided style is seriously chic.
Power Pony
Don't believe a simply ponytail will do enough for your outfit? Add a pair of gilded statement earrings and watch the compliments roll in.
The Bee's Knees
A true vintage throwback, this voluminous beehive hairdo is the perfect statement look, especially when paired with a crimson lipstick.
All Tied Up
The scarf's reign continues this season, this time joining the hair party rather than just sticking to your neck. I'm kinda sorta obsessed with this messy half-ponytail moment tied up with the silk scarf.
Up, Up, and Away
Y'all, updos aren't just for events anymore, at least according to NYFW. I've never seen this many on the street style set, but truthfully, I'm not mad about it!
Put a Ring(let) On It
I love seeing a curly ponytail out on the streets of NYC, and this spiral ringlet rendition is positively stunning.
Bless This Mess
I'll never get tired of seeing a high fashion outfit paired with a messy bun and plenty of artful flyaways.
All Curled Up
Bridal hair, but make it NYFW. This chic curly updo looks right at home on the streets of NYC.
Defying Gravity
A braided crown with luscious volume to match? This is what NYFW glam dreams are made of.
Petal Lips
The only thing better than rocking a bright crimson lip during NYFW is adding in plenty of floral accents, from your dress to your hair.
Party In the Back
What better way to accent your backless top than with a sculptural bubble ponytail?
Braided Beauty
This whole look is giving NYC princess vibes, from the pink sparkles to the braided bun.
Bold Pout
Add a pop of red to your maximalist ensemble—it is NYFW after all.
Top to Toe
No white after Labor Day? Rejected, courtesy of this chic pedicure moment.
Silver Siren
Let those stunning silver strands take center stage.
Add a Bandana
Keep the curls in place by adding a striped bandana.
Double Up
What's better than one braid? Two, obviously!
Cranberry Kiss
Add a high-contrast lip for a bold, unforgettable look.
Maximalist Mani
Nails are the best accessory, especially when they're as playful as this set.
It's Giving Glow
When you're this naturally radiant, you don't need any makeup to steal focus.
All Twisted Up
A simple twisted bun adds the perfect feminine touch to a structured striped shirt.
Bangs, Baby, Bangs
Baby bangs are one of the hardest to pull off, but when it works, the look is impeccable.
Extra Accessorized
Use some unexpected charms to your hair to keep your updo in place and add some intrigue to your outfit.
Curly Crop
In case you forgot, a curly bob is never a bad idea.
Matchy Maroon
Need lipstick shade inspiration? Just match it to your fall outerwear.
All About a Bixie
The reign of the bixie cut isn't over, and it's still one of my favorite fall hairstyles.
Spaced Out
Space buns with a Y2K-inspired part? Yes please.
Beautifully Ballet
An extra high bun reads elegant and timeless, always.
Serving Side Braid
Don't have time for a complicated updo? A simple side braid never fails.
Money Piece Chignon
Pondering a hair color change for fall? I suggest some blonde money pieces to accent your bun.
Flirty Pony
Ponytails get a high fashion upgrade with lots of texture, movement, and volume.
