The 10 Best Tom Ford Perfumes For a Sexy, Old Money Vibe
With over 130 to choose from, these scents are worth the price tag.

To know a Tom Ford fragrance is to experience pure, unadulterated luxury. Since 2006 when the fashion house debuted its first perfume, Black Orchid—with notes of expensive-smelling black truffle and addictive ylang-ylang—the fragrance quickly became synonymous with lush opulence. For the record, it's my go-to scent when I want to smell like I have a seven-figure trust fund.
The modern timelessness of Black Orchid quickly cemented the brand’s influence on the fragrance world, and laid the groundwork for the 130+ Tom Ford scents currently on the market today.
With such a vast array of options, there are options for every type of fragrance fan: Tobacco Vanille for a unisex scent, Soliel Blanc for summer, Black Cherry for a funky, fruity Y2K-esque blend. But wearing a Tom Ford fragrance isn’t just about having a swoon-worthy perfume in your wardrobe—it's about tapping into a lifestyle, and a very chic one at that.
I've tried nearly every Tom Ford fragrance over my years as a beauty writer (there's been a lot of spritzing in my apartment), so I'm sharing my favorite Tom Ford fragrances of all time, below. Floral scents, leather notes, spicy incense, tangy fruit, and more, there’s something for everyone.

We must pay homage to the Tom Ford fragrance that started it all. Black truffle, black currant, patchouli, chocolate, vanilla, amber, and sandalwood—Black Orchid is a potent mixture of strong notes that attract attention and keep it there for hours. It starts off dark and intense with its smoky top notes before settling into a sweet chocolate and warm base. It’s a scent that you (and anyone who is lucky enough to get a whiff) will be thinking of long after it’s gone.
Fragrance Family: Warm Florals
Key Notes: Black Currant, Black Truffle, Patchouli, Mexican Chocolate, Amber, Sandalwood
Size: 1.7 oz.
What I Love: It’s a unique scent that mixes very powerful notes in a well-balanced way.
What I Don’t: It’s very strong and might overwhelm some people.
Review for MC: “There’s that theory that men never forget about their first love; they could be married for 25 years with children and still think about 'the girl that got away.' Well, Black Orchid is that girl. It mixes powerful notes for an alluring mixture of smokey incense, sweet dark chocolate, and warm sandalwood. Apologies for the scents you use after this; Black Orchid's influence and power are unmatched." — Audrey Noble, Contributing Beauty Writer

Tom Ford’s latest launch is intense—in the best way possible. It is made with natural incense for a smokey base, but it also has notes of ink accord, vinyl, rum, and peony to balance out the strength with sweet floral notes. Its staying power is unmatched too, lasting all day long.
Fragrance Family: Woody Spicy
Key Notes: Indian Ink Accord, Makassar Ebony Wood Scentrek, Olibanum, Vinyl
Size: 1.7 oz
What I Love: It’s a dynamic smokey incense-like scent that lasts a long time.
What I Don’t: It’s very strong and may overwhelm some.
Review for MC: “Chalk it up to my Catholic upbringing, but I feel immediately drawn to Black Lacquer. It has notes of natural incense (the olibanum), ink, wood, and vinyl to give me an intense smokey wood scent that lingers smoothly on the skin. Decadent and nostalgic, it makes me reimagine my altar girl days when I would handle the incense throughout mass, but in a chic luxe way.” — Audrey Noble, Contributing Beauty Writer

The name of this fragrance really speaks for itself. It's a whimsical mix of some of my favorite notes; ones that shouldn’t work together but somehow harmoniously combine. It opens with fresh notes of lavender and sage before engulfing me with spicy leather and drying down to warm amber. The scent is complex but exciting and just all-around, f*cking fabulous.
Fragrance Family: Woody Spice
Key Notes: Leather, Tonka Bean, Sage
Size: 1.7 oz.
What I Love: It mixes a variety of notes together in perfect harmony for a lovely, fresh woody scent.
What I Don’t: The lavender and sage do drown out the spicier and woodier notes at times.
Review for MC: “I came for the genius name and stayed for the immaculate scent. I read the notes and thought, ‘There’s no way this could work.’ But leave it to a Tom Ford scent to prove me wrong. I get a lovely mix of fresh, powdery notes and spicy warmth. It’s rich and fun in an ‘I spend my summers yachting’ way. F*cking fabulous, indeed.” — Audrey Noble, Contributing Beauty Writer

Though inspired by the sun's shimmer on fresh snow, Soleil Neige shouldn’t be siloed to the winter season. It’s made with bergamot, jasmine, and lemon notes to provide an energetic and lively citrus scent, perfect for a rainy spring day or hot summer eve. It’s bright and lighthearted in a way that convinced me I could run the New York City marathon.
Fragrance Family: Fresh Citrus
Key Notes: Bergamot, Jasmine Flower, Lemon
Size: 1.7 oz.
What I Love: It’s a bright scent that mixes citrus with green and musk notes that’s light and pretty.
What I Don’t: It doesn’t last as long as we’d like.
Review for MC: “While Soleil Neige does take me back to my first ski lesson in the Swiss Alps last year, basking in the sunlight as I try not to crash on the bunny slope (or accidentally into children who were also learning the art of the pizza formation), its light and powdery nature energizes me to partake in an activity—regardless of the season. I’m greeted with a burst of citrus from the bergamot and lemon top notes that develop into a greener and muskier profile.“ — Audrey Noble, Contributing Beauty Writer

Café Rose develops with time. The first seconds of wearing it introduce Turkish and Bulgarian rose, but the added spicy flavor of the coffee and cardamom comes around the longer it lingers on your skin. They say the best love starts slowly, which applies here with this incredibly romantic scent.
Fragrance Family: Floral
Key Notes: Turkish Rose, Bulgarian Rose, Coffee
Size: 3.4 oz.
What I Love: It’s a light, sweet floral scent that doesn’t overwhelm you.
What I Don’t Love: We don’t smell as much coffee as I’d like.
Review for MC: “Though it’s one of the more unassuming Tom Ford scent experiences, Café Rose is still top-tier. It’s romantic and sweet without being too grand and reminds me of an ex who would buy me pretty—but wallet-friendly—roses from the bodega closest to my apartment. It was a small gesture that compounded over and just meant the world to me, just like this fragrance.” — Audrey Noble, Contributing Beauty Writer

Lost Cherry is what happens when you give Tom Ford a heads-up on the Y2K cherry lip gloss trend. It's a delicious combination of sweet and fruity cherry and warmer smells of almond and tonka bean with a creamy, milky finish. It smells so good that I wish I could eat it to satisfy my never-satiated sweet tooth.
Fragrance Family: Warm Gourmand
Key Notes: Black Cherry, Tonka Bean, Almond
Size: 1.7 oz.
What I Love: The cherry scent smells sophisticated and is warmed by the tonka bean and almond for a sweet gourmand that we want to wear all day.
What I Don’t: It may be too sweet for some.
Review for MC: “I absolutely adore this scent. It gives a sweet tone of cherry without being overbearing and the almond shines through giving it a gentle sense of innocence. It is the embodiment of sexy and sophisticated.” — Sephora
Bitter Peach is a unique scent that mixes notes of peach, blood orange, and patchouli for the perfect balance of sweet and tart. It’s alluring while playful—and made with fruity floral lovers in mind. And though unconfirmed, TikTok swears it’s one of Beyoncé’s favorite scents, and I—like most people—will do anything to smell like Queen Bey.
Fragrance Family: Fruity Floral
Key Notes: Peche de Vigne, Blood Orange and Patchouli
Size: 1.7 oz.
What I Love: It’s a complex fruity scent that’s intriguing and really lovely.
What I Don’t: It’s very potent and can be overwhelming for some.
Review for MC: “This will always be one of my favorite fragrances! It is mouth-watering and perfect for layering with another simple scent. I get so many compliments from men and women whenever I wear this. I have gone through two tubs and a full size.” — Sephora
Even the most vanilla-averse person might second-guess their staunch stance with Tobacco Vanille. It mixes the vanilla base with tobacco to give it a smokey, soothing tone. It definitely smells a bit masculine but has a skin-like finish that provides a sexy, feminine edge.
Fragrance Family: Warm Spicy
Key Notes: Tobacco Leaf, Vanilla, Ginger
Size: 1.7 oz.
What I Love: It has notes of tobacco and ginger to add more dimension to the sweet vanilla note.
What I Don’t: It’s very strong and might overwhelm some.
Review for MC: “Love this scent. It's so unisex. Long-lasting, and honestly, I kept trying to find a good dupe, but nothing kind of hits the way this does. I think it's worth whatever is in your budget. It doesn't lean into overpowering but it's a good sillage. You get a smokey vanilla.” — Sephora
Beloved by editors and fragrance lovers everywhere, Soleil Blanc is exactly what you’d want a luxe beach vacation to smell like. It mixes notes of ylang-ylang and cardamom to deliver a spicy powder that warms down to a rich, sweet coconut base. So, if walking along the white sands of Bora Bora just as the sun sets sounds like your happy place, this was made for you.
Fragrance Family: Warm Spicy
Key Notes: Coco de Mer, Ylang Ylang Comores Islands, Cardamom
Size: 1.7 oz.
What We Love: It’s a sweet floral that’s warmed up quite nicely with gourmand notes.
What We Don’t: It might be too sweet for some.
Review for MC: “Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford is my go-to vacation scent. It's perfect for any sunny getaway, but I find it lacks versatility for everyday wear. Still, it's a delightful fragrance that captures the essence of vacation and will always be a must.” — Sephora
Those who say a rose by any other name would not be as sweet have not come across a Tom Ford rose. This floral scent is inspired by Ford’s rose garden, which should indicate its peaceful, spritzing experience. Bulgarian rose and patchouli create a green floral base, but the Sichuan pepper gives it an unexpected spicy twist that I'm obsessed with.
Fragrance Family: Floral
Key Notes: Bulgarian Rose, Sichuan pepper, Indonesian Patchouli, Roasted Tonka
Size: 1.7 oz.
What We Love: The mix of floral and pepper makes for an addictive combo.
What We Don’t: It doesn’t last as long as we’d like.
Review for MC: “Upon first smell, I knew that Rose Prick was special. It’s subtle and soft, yet just peppery to grab the attention of a passerby and keep the fragrance intriguing. Rose Prick is now a permanent fixture in my fragrance wardrobe.” — Sephora
