'All of Us Are Dead' Season 2: Everything We Know

Back in January 2022, Netflix's thriller K-drama All of Us Are Dead brought Korea's history of excellent zombie stories to the streaming giant. Premiering just months after Squid Game's first season, the series follows a group of high school students as a zombie virus tears through the campus. Think a battle with the undead á la Train to Busan, but the heroes are a bunch of kids also dealing with crushes, bullies, and creepy teachers.

All of Us Are Dead quickly rose to the No. 1 spot on the Netflix charts—becoming the second-ever K-drama to do so at the time. After season 1's cliffhanger ending, the streamer renewed the series, leaving fans wondering what will happen to the Hyosan High survivors next. Over three years later, there's finally an update on the series's future. Below, read on for everything we know about All of Us Are Dead season 2 so far.

How did 'All of Us Are Dead' season 1 end?

Though most of the students of Hyosan High didn't make it out alive, the season 1 finale saw many of our faves surviving the bombing of Hyosan. On-jo, Su-hyeok, Hae-ri, Mi-jin, Dae-su, and Hyo-Ryeong get admitted into the quarantine camp, while super-zombie Nam-ra runs off when her cravings for flesh get stronger. Months later, the group, led by On-jo, reunites with the former class president, who has found a group of other evolved zombies. The series ends with Nam-ra heading off to join her new group, as the students look on in shock (and a smile from her boyfriend Su-hyeok).

Will there be a season 2 of 'All of Us Are Dead?'

In June 2022, Netflix confirmed that All of Us Are Dead would return for another season. The streaming giant announced the news as part of its Geeked Week 2022, dropping a wholesome video of Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo), Lomon (Lee Su-hyeok), Cho Yi-hyn (Choi Nam-ra), and Yoon Chan-young (Lee Cheong-san, who we thought was dead?!) speaking, thanking fans for their support of the show.

When will 'All of Us Are Dead' season 2 come out?

Though there isn't an official release date for the series yet, production has officially begun for All of Us Are Dead season 2! The streamer announced the big news on July 22, 2025, over three years after the show was renewed. (Hopefully it won't take as long for the new episodes to arrive.)

Who will be in the cast of 'All of Us Are Dead' season 2?

Of the students who made it out of Hyosan High, four familiar faces will be returning for All of Us Are Dead season 2. Park Ji-hu is set to lead the series as a now-college-aged On-jo, while Yoon Chan-young (Cheong-san), Cho Yi-hyun (Nam-ra), and Lomon (Su-hyeok) will also reprise their roles.

Meanwhile, season 2 has recruited new stars from Netflix's network of K-drama actors. Weak Hero Class 2 star Lee Min-jae, Squid Game season 2 alum Lee Si-eun, and Undercover High School's Yoon Ga-i will play a group of university seniors who befriend On-jo. Also, former Squid Game antagonist Roh Jae-won will co-star as a team leader within the National Intelligence Service (Korea's CIA).

What will 'All of Us Are Dead' season 2 be about?

Netflix has revealed that season 2 of All of Us Are Dead will begin with a time jump, with heroine On-jo now attending university in Seoul, and still "struggling to move on from the trauma and the friends she lost," per the description. "But when a new wave of infection suddenly hits Seoul, she finds herself trapped in another deadly fight for survival—this time without the people she once depended on."

While On-jo fights through a new wave of zombies with her university friends, the series will also follow Nam-ra, Cheong-san, and Su-hyeok's new lives. Since Cheong-san was presumed dead at the end of season 1, he's likely now a hambie, or a human-zombie hybrid, alongside Nam-ra. Su-hyeok ended season 1 alive, but if he's still hanging out with his crush and his bestie years after the outbreak (and, you know, their zombification), there's a chance that he's now a hambie as well. We'll have to see how the trio is faring, and whether they'll reunite with On-jo.

What have the cast and crew said about season 2?

Director Lee Jae-kyoo told The Korea Herald in February 2022 that the series was made with several plot points that could be expanded into a second season, including the evolved zombies Nam-Ra and Gwi-nam.

“Many directions, settings, and scenes were intentionally produced to expand the story into an additional season, including the introduction of the new races of zombies—immune and immortal. If the first season can be seen as having presented humanity‘s survival, the next season can talk about the survival of zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season,” he said.

Lee also said that he hoped the show's audience would reflect on the social issues brought up in the zombie thriller, including teen bullying and wealth inequality.

“The origin of zombie virus was introduced in the series as an attempt to highlight the people who take responsibility and those who do not when an event, such as school violence, occurs. Though it is another zombie action thriller, I thought the series provides the viewers with a chance to think about what kind of people they are,” he added.
