Throughout the season, the Islanders play a variety of challenges—often meant to incite drama. Movie Night is one of those challenges, popcorn and all. Sectioned off into groups of men and women, each team must answer an often romance-related trivia question. Whichever team answers correctly gets to pick from a selection of filmed clips from their time in the villa—which is then broadcast for everyone to see.
How does Movie Night on 'Love Island USA' work?
Almost everything is filmed in the Love Island villa. There are cameras just about everywhere, which is how the show manages to produce an hour-long episode almost every day of the week. The Movie Night challenge capitalizes on that surplus of footage.
Often taking place about midway through the season (usually after Casa Amor), Movie Night captures some of the juiciest, most jaw-dropping moments the audience has seen, but that other Islanders might not know about, and broadcasts it for the whole cast to watch together. Anything's up for grabs—snide comments made behind a cast member's back, flirty conversations and dalliances couples might not know about, matches being unfaithful to their partners, and the moments everyone thought would stay hidden. Movie Night is officially happening! On the June 27 episode of Aftersun, hosts Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa revealed that the classic challenge will return. So, yes, expect Islanders to get the chance to see what's been said and done behind their backs.
Not only that, this time around, viewers have the chance to chime in on the selected clips, with the show putting up a suggestion box via Instagram Story QA. (The story itself expired on June 28, but a standard post is still up where fans can sound off in the comments.)

Movie Night's official showtime is on June 30. As usual, the episode will air at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock. The release date was announced just one day before airing.

Think about all those times you've watched a reality show and wished you could see another cast member react to something wild that happened behind their backs, unbeknownst to them. Movie Night gives you and the Islanders the chance to see all of that. And after Casa Amor, fans have seen a lot that they want their faves to know.
According to my timeline, the most pressing drama is KC and Aniya's breakup—or, more accurately, KC's descent from an early favorite in a devoted couple into red-pill, Kevin Samuels-level disrespect towards women. In fact, most clips will likely show how the male Islanders were getting down in Casa Amor, as well as anything they said behind their partners' backs in the villa. Odds are, there will likely be plenty of clips of Amora and Sincere's canoodling, and of the boys opening up to each other about their feelings. Throw in a bit of discord around the love triangles—which at this point are Melanie/Sincere/Amora and Jen/Gal/Kenzie—and this movie night may join the ranks of the franchise's best.
