Light spoilers for seasons 1 and 2 of The Four Seasons ahead. Netflix's friendship dramedy The Four Seasons is a must-watch for anyone who turns to TV for their vacation inspo. (Especially as we wait for new The White Lotus episodes.) The series from Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield is based on Alan Alda's 1981 film of the same name, following a friend group of middle-aged couples as they take four vacations together, one in each season. (Each season lasts two episodes.) Each trip pushes the cast of TV legends to grapple with issues like health concerns, midlife malaise, and keeping relationships fresh at a time when it's easier to take them for granted.

The Four Seasons returned for its second season on May 28, offering up a new round of vacation envy. Once again, it turns out that Netflix subscribers on the East Coast won't have to travel far to follow in the show's footsteps (minus one international jaunt). Below, read on for everything to know about The Four Seasons' filming locations.

Where was 'The Four Seasons' season 1 filmed?

    Spring

Will Forte as Jack, Tina Fey as Kate, Marco Calvani as Claude, Colman Domingo as Danny, Steve Carell as Nick, and Kerri Kenney as Anne sit at a dining table on a patio by a lake in The Four Seasons.

Episodes 1 and 2 of the Netflix series see the longtime friend group reunite in the spring, staying at Nick and Anne's lake house. According to Tudum, various locations throughout New York's Hudson Valley region, including properties in Cold Spring, Newburgh, and Fishkill, stood in for the lakeside property and the neighboring town.

When Kate, Anne, and Claude head into town to shop, Cold Spring's Main Street is featured in the picturesque scenes, as well as the local Cold Spring General Store. Expect a return to the upstate area soon, as most of The Four Seasons' episodes were filmed throughout New York State.

For the show's most incongruous getaway, which was planned by Nick's new 30-something girlfriend Ginny, the Gen X group headed to a tropical eco resort with several yurts and a beachfront bar. Episodes 3 and 4 were the only installments filmed outside New York, with production heading south to Puerto Rico.

All the beachside scenes, from the group's eco resort to Anne's surfing lessons, were filmed on Luquillo Beach, on the northeast side of the island. Eventually, when a hurricane threatens to blow the eco resort away, the group has to relocate to a four-star hotel just a mile away. These scenes were filmed at El Conquistador in Fajardo, which is just 30 minutes away from Luquillo in real life. The luxury resort's amenities include a spa, a small water park, an 18-hole golf course, and a 100-acre private island called Palomino.

For fall, the friend group headed back to where it all began, as Kate, Jack, Nick, and Anne visited their daughters for Parents' Weekend at the same college where Kate, Danny, and Jack first met. These campus scenes were filmed at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, while Beacon, New York stood in for the college town.

The show also features a popular local restaurant. The Vinyl Room, where Jack and Claude shop for records, is a real record shop and bar that also features a speakeasy with vintage arcade games on the bottom floor.

For the final ski getaway in episodes 7 and 8, The Four Seasons traveled to Mount Peter in Warwick, Orange County, New York. The resort's ski season usually lasts from December to March, but the Netflix series filmed its scenes in early November 2024. Speaking to PEOPLE, location manager Matt Lamb revealed that the small family business that operates the ski area was "totally game for [the production's] shenanigans and made snow for us."

According to their website, Mount Peter opened in 1936 and is "the oldest operating ski area in New York State, and one of only a few remaining family-operated ski areas in America." Located an hour drive from N.Y.C., they offer 13 "expertly groomed" skiing and snowboarding trails, as well as a 600-foot tubing run. Mount Peter also offers free 50-minute lessons for beginners on weekends or holidays with a paid lift ticket or area pass.

Season 2 begins with the gang (and a very pregnant Ginny) traveling up to the Catskills to spread Nick's ashes on his favorite hiking vista. According to local outlets, these episodes were filmed in the Hudson Valley, with production returning to the Newburgh area and Fishkill’s Main Street. Hudson Valley Country even reported that the mountain scenes may have been filmed on Mount Beacon or Bear Mountain.

As for lodging, the Blue Fox Motel in Narrowsburg, New York, stood in for the show’s fictional Midnight Ramble Motel. The boutique property near Woodstock offers both individual rooms and private homes to rent, and features a restaurant, pool, and pickleball court. For hikers, the popular Tusten Mountain Trail is within walking distance.

For the summer getaway, Kate, Jack, Danny, Claude, Anne, Ginny, and Ginny’s new baby(!) stayed close to home, heading to the Jersey Shore. Though the series mentions Point Pleasant Beach, production was spotted filming ten miles away in Ocean Grove, New Jersey, on the historic Ocean Pathway and the town’s boardwalk.

    Winter

After Danny and Claude announced their pending move during Thanksgiving at Anne’s house, the final trip of season 2 sees Kate, Jack, Anne, and Ginny jet off to Claude’s hometown in Alpine Italy for Christmas! According to Time Out, these episodes were filmed in Trento, the capital of the Trentino region located in northern Italy at the foot of the Dolomites. Some of the sights spotted in episodes 7 and 8 include the historic Buonconsiglio Castle; the town’s center square, or the Piazza del Duomo di Trento; and the Osteria a le Due Spade, the Michelin-recommended eatery where Kate and Jack attempt a romantic dinner.

We also see two local Trento events in The Four Seasons. The friends buy gifts at the famed Trento Christmas Market, held in the Piazza Fiera from late November through early January every year. However, Jack also signs up for a 26-mile maratona that doesn’t actually exist. The annual Trento Christmas Run is a much calmer 5-km (or 3.1-mile) non-competitive run where participants dress in Santa costumes or other festive attire. There’s also the Trento Half Marathon, a traditional 10-kilometer (or 6.2-mile) race throughout the picturesque town, but that takes place in September or October every year.
