We’ve reached that point in the year when warm weather isn’t just a far-fetched fantasy, it’s a tangible reality. Temperatures are finally hovering around 70 degrees, which means that open-toe footwear is officially back in rotation. As such, I’ve already begun scouting out the best sandal trends of the season so that I can stock my capsule wardrobe accordingly.

For inspiration, I’ve set my sights on the Spring 2026 runways, where breezy, barely-there sandals were paired alongside warm-weather staples like floaty dresses, thigh-skimming Bermuda shorts, and sweeping maxi skirts. Many brands embraced pared-down designs, showcasing sleek thong silhouettes and ultra-thin straps. Others opted for bolder alternatives, making a statement with quirky toe loops, floral appliqués, chunky platforms, and criss-cross constructions. From minimalist sandals that maintained a low profile to maximalist styles that commanded attention, there seemed to be a little something for everyone.

Ahead, discover a curated edit of this season’s most coveted sandal trends, inspired by labels like Balenciaga, Alaïa, Diotima, and more. These selections include both affordable and designer items for every price point. Whether you need a polished pair for days in the office or a laid-back option for your next shoreside getaway, you’ll find a variety below.

Designers are having a love affair with ‘90s style, so it’s only right that thong sandals are spinning around fashion’s trend cycle once again. Defined by a simple Y-shaped strap, this minimal staple is a vintage classic. Channel your inner Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy with a neutral pair, or choose a subtle splash of cool blue.

Toe-ring sandals are nothing new. Fashion Features Editor Emma Childs reported on the freaky footwear trend last summer, claiming that designers, A-listers, and It girls couldn’t get enough of the look. Fast-forward to this year, and little has changed. Labels like Calvin Klein, Celine, and Jean Paul Gaultier have already co-signed toe-ring sandals for spring 2026. So, go ahead and follow their lead.
