This lineup has saved my processed strands.

I have been every single shade of blonde under the sun, minus straight-up platinum (my hairstylist, Colleen Flaherty, refuses to take me there). Buttery, golden, neutral, ashy, all-over, balayage, foils—you name the shade and technique and I’ll show you a picture of myself from the last decade with my hair bleached that shade. Aside from a momentary dalliance with red a few years ago, and a high school-era box of dark brunette dye, I am firmly and resoundingly on team blonde; however, that doesn’t mean that the color isn’t high-maintenance. Highlights aren’t for the faint of heart, which is why I keep an evolving roster of blonde care products stocked in my bathroom to keep my color bright, brass-free, and protected from any further damage (aside, you know, from the three-times-a-year bleach).

From gentle, hydrating shampoos and conditioners to overnight serums to heal and prevent breakage, my favorite products for blonde hair run the gamut, but one thing is for sure—together, they help my color of the moment look as radiant as possible, with minimal frizz or split ends in sight. Keep scrolling for my must-have products for bleached blonde hair.

Always Purple Shampoos

There’s nothing more quintessentially blonde care than a stellar purple shampoo. Counteract brassy tones with a once-a-week wash to keep your color brilliant.

Ultra-Moisturizing Conditioners

Blonde hair tends to fall on the dehydrated side, so make sure that your post-shampoo care includes a deeply nourishing and hydrating conditioner.

Touchably-Soft Treatment Serums

Just like a serum for your face, these treatments add a little extra boost of nourishing and repairing ingredients into your hair care routine.

Hallelujah, Hair Oils

One of my favorite ways to add a little extra nourishment to my parched blonde hair is to apply a few drops of hair oil to the ends. It’s also a great way to smooth away excess frizz in the summer heat.

UV? No Way

It may not be top of mind but low-key, the sun is one of the top culprits for turning blonde hair brassy and damaging fragile strands. Add some UV protection to your hair routine to keep your color bright all summer long.
