Whenever I hear the word sale, it’s like a bat signal goes off, and I turn into Bruce Wayne. So, of course, when I saw that Amazon was having its big summer Prime Day sale, my adrenaline spiked and my wallet quivered because it knew damage was about to be done. The sale will run from June 23 to June 26, with various discounts offered across homeware, electronics, and more. Given my obsession with all things beauty, of course, I’m stocking up on body care, skincare, hair tools, and fragrances, but the category I’m most excited to shop? Makeup.
If anyone has even the slightest inkling of the kind of person I am, they're aware that blush, lipsticks, and lip glosses are my favorite makeup categories to hoard. Still, as the weather gets warmer and I go on vacations, my skin tone changes, so it’s actually imperative that I also get foundations, powders, and bronzers that match my summer skin and won’t make me look insanely ashy.
All this means is that I’m about to have a massive beauty haul coming my way. The Eyes
One of the easiest ways to jazz up your makeup? A sultry eye. The products below will keep your lashes long and your eyeliner perfectly smokey.
Urban Decay’s Glide-On Eyeliners have been and still are one of the best eyeliners on the market. The formula gives you room to play before drying down, but once it sets, it doesn’t move. Plus, the pencil-shaped packaging makes application so easy. If you struggle with doing your eyeliner or want a formula that holds up against teary eyes, this is it.
I’ve used this mascara since high school, and every time I revisit it, I wonder why I stopped using it. Not only does the formula keep my lashes lifted, but the brush reaches practically every single eyelash, and the volume it provides is insane. Charlotte Tilbury makes some of my favorite lipsticks, and a 30 percent discount is one of the highest I’ve seen in a long time. Everything about this product is phenomenal, from the pump packaging to the shade range (the undertones are immaculate). The best part of it all? It feels like barely anything is on your skin.
Speaking of complexion products that feel like nothing on the skin, not enough people talk about Estee Lauder’s Futurist Skin Tint Serum. As the name suggests, it has a lightweight serum-like consistency that is perfect to throw on and head out the door. Still, if you want to use it for a more full-glam moment, the formula is really easy to build up to give you the coverage you want, sans any pilling.
The Powders
As a certified oily girl, I simply cannot live without a good powder in my makeup routine. Below are two of my favorites; if they work for my skin, I can guarantee they’ll work for yours, too.
Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder is legendary for a reason, and that reason is that it makes your makeup stay on flawlessly all day. Not only does this super-silky formula keep the oils near my T-zone at bay, but the shade Honey provides a perfect everyday highlight for my skin tone. I’ll never be without it.
If you prefer a pressed powder, Clinique has you covered. The Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Face Powder was made for oily skin, and its sheer wash of color makes it both a fantastic option to set your under-eyes in the morning and to touch up throughout the day.
