Everything We Know About 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 3
We're finally returning to Cousins Beach this July...for one last time.
When The Summer I Turned Pretty first premiered on Prime Video in June 2022, the teen drama based on Jenny Han's novel of the same name was a bubbly summer dream and the perfect escape for fans of complicated love triangles and vicarious heart-fluttering feelings. Season 2 of the teen series, based on the sequel novel It's Not Summer Without You, was much heavier. The second installment balanced a present-day crisis—in which Belly (Lola Tung), Conrad (Christopher Briney), and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) have to reunite to keep their aunt (Kyra Sedgwick) from selling off the beloved Cousins beach house—with flashbacks to a year of loss and heartbreak, as Belly and the boys work through their grief from the loss of Fisher matriarch Susannah (Rachel Blanchard).
Several of the scenes were as emotional and moody as Conrad's day-to-day personality, then the lightest moments occurred once Belly and the Fisher brothers got over their love triangle long enough to be genuine friends. That's not to mention Steven (Sean Kaufman) and Taylor's (Rain Spencer) budding relationship and the welcome addition of the boys' cool cousin Skye (Elsie Fisher).
Season 2's eight episodes concluded on August 18, 2023, with the Conklins and Fishers saving the summer house and Belly finally making a choice, choosing a future with Jeremiah over rekindling her relationship with Conrad. However, fans of the books knew that this story wasn't over yet, and Prime Video renewed the show for a third season while season 2 was still airing. With new episodes finally arriving this summer, we're looking at the future of The Summer I Turned Pretty and everything we know about season 3.

When will 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' season 3 come out?
Prime Video has announced that The Summer I Turned Pretty will return for season 3 on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, two years after season 2's airing.
Less than a week before the premiere date, the streamer confirmed that two episodes are set to hit streaming that day. The rest of the show will then roll out weekly every Wednesday, with the finale airing on September 17.
Prime Video had previously teased a July release date for the hit series, but it wasn't until late April that it revealed the official premiere. The streamer shared the season 3 poster along with the news, featuring the main love triangle posing in a shot inspired by a promotional image for the classic romance movie Sabrina, starring Audrey Hepburn as a woman torn between two brothers played by Humphrey Bogart and William Holden. It's catching us in all of the feels!

The current hiatus between seasons has been double the show's one-year break between seasons 1 and 2. To make up for it, the upcoming installment has been expanded to 11 episodes—with Jenny Han directing one—making it the longest The Summer I Turned Pretty season yet.
Cameras began rolling on season 3 in May 2024. At the time, Prime Video announced the news via a video of The Summer I Turned Pretty cast back on set, playing beach volleyball.
Is season 3 the last season of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty?'
All good things must end, including our favorite teen TV shows. Ahead of the new season, Prime Video revealed that The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 will be the show's final installment. The streamer also released the first poster for the new season on March 7, 2025.
The decision to end TSITP at season 3 means that the show will be the same length as the three-book series, with each season adapting one of the novels.

Who will be in the cast of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' season 3?
Season 2 saw the show stick to its main cast of Conklins, Fishers, and friends, with unfortunately fewer appearances from the deb squad. Sticking with that trend, season 3's main cast will include Lola Tung (Belly), Christopher Briney (Conrad), Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah), Sean Kaufman (Steven), Jackie Chung (Laurel), Rain Spencer (Taylor). It's currently unknown whether fan-favorites like David Iacono (Cam) and Elsie Fisher (Skye) will return, and Rachel Blanchard (Susannah) may also be back for some tear-jerking flashbacks.
With less than two months to go until the season 3 premiere, Variety reported on June 4 that seven(!) new cast members have joined TSITP. Isabella Briggs (Fatal Attraction) and Kristen Connolly (The Cabin in the Woods) have joined the show as series regulars, along with new returning cast members Sofia Bryant (I Am Not Okay With This), Lily Donoghue (Daisy Jones the Six), Zoé de Grand’Maison (Riverdale), Emma Ishta (Stitchers), and Tanner Zagarino (Shrinking).
Season 3 will likely begin with Belly and Jeremiah off at college together.
What will happen on 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' season 3?
Prime Video has released an official logline for the final and third installment: "It’s the end of her junior year of college, and Belly’s looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah. Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life. Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same…"
The love triangle between Conrad (Christopher Briney), Belly, and Jeremiah may not be over quite yet.
With that in mind, the upcoming episodes will follow the third book of Jenny Han's trilogy, We'll Always Have Summer. In the novel, Belly and Jeremiah have been dating for two years while attending the same college, and they eventually decide to make their relationship forever. Meanwhile, Conrad has spent the past two years still loving Belly but feels like he lost his chance. However, as he and Belly spend lots of time together over the summer, they must face feelings that may have never gone away. So when season 3 arrives, expect a time jump, wedding planning, and renewed love triangle angst.

Han has been tight-lipped on whether the new season will include any major changes from the books, but she has hinted that things may not unfold exactly as fans expect. She told PEOPLE, "There are a couple of moments that people really love from the books that I knew that people were wanting to see," adding that some scenes "might not always happen in the way that you're expecting."
Still, the author said that she wanted "to really service those fans who've been following the story for a really long time."
Is there a trailer for 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' season 3?
Yes! The full-length trailer was released in mid-June, approximately a month before the season 3 premiere. Soundtracked by not one but two Taylor Swift songs—Lover track "Daylight" and the title track off Red—it seems to imply that fans are in for an emotional whirlwind. "First loves are important, but they’re not as important as lasts," Belly's voiceover says in the clip, as it shows how wonderfully things are going with Jeremiah. She insists that "he's the one," and the two even concoct a plan to get married, despite Laurel's concerns.
Though all seems to be going well, when Conrad is reintroduced into Belly's life, it seems like unresolved feelings will be hard to ignore. "Everywhere I go, there’s a memory of Conrad," she says at one point. We're ready for the final installment to break our hearts into a million pieces!
If you want to do even more emotional damage ahead of the season 3 premiere, you can also check out a teaser trailer. Days after Prime Video announced the season 3 premiere date, it dropped the first teaser in April. Like the main trailer, the clip features "Daylight" while sharing heartwarming shots of Belly and Jeremiah's life together—enjoying each other's company on campus, movie nights at home, nights out together, and mornings at the breakfast table. But everything is upended and "Daylight" turns into "Red" as Conrad arrives at their front door. All he says is, "Hey," but you can bet melodrama is about to ensue.
