How to Wear Burgundy and Navy Together for Spring, the Kendall Jenner-Approved Way
The pairing is unexpected, but she proves it works.
Burgundy is booked and busy this spring. So far, the trend has teamed up with chartreuse, powder pink, tomato red, and baby blue, making some of the season's most unconventional color combinations. On April 1, Kendall Jenner added one more—and perhaps the most versatile—counterpart to the mix: navy blue. Chanel's current It-bag and a four-figure The Row jacket made quite the burgundy-and-blue couple.
The classic Americana colors looked less patriotic and more minimalist on Jenner after her Beverly Hills business meeting on April 1. First, she buttoned the $4,200 Tanera Cinched Jacket to the top, hiding any semblance of a shirt underneath. At first glance, its funnel-neck collar, flap pockets, and hip-length hem were so dark, they looked black. But the Olsen twins-led label confirmed it's as navy as the sweater Jenner layered over a trench coat back in February.

Jenner's jacket doubled as the navy backdrop behind her new Matthieu Blazy-era Chanel Maxi Flap Bag. Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner's black Chanel totes feature the same slouchy flap, pebbled leather, and monogrammed turn-lock. Kendall's $9,300 tote, on the other hand, was burgundy from the double shoulder straps to the inside zipper pocket. It even matched her equally-warm-toned, leather-bound notebook.
From there, Jenner bookended her off-duty 'fit with her spring 2026 classics: the cigarette jeans and high-vamp flats trends. She chose a $325 pair of Levi's 1950's 701s, featuring a lived-in, sky blue wash. Beneath the darker hems emerged The Row Eva ballet flats. They've been sold out for months, but Anya Taylor-Joy, Katie Holmes, and more have recently proven the market is stocked with similar styles.
This is by far Jenner's clearest interpretation of the color combination, following her burgundy ballet flats and navy blue baseball cap in late January. She's testing the set slowly-but-surely after its soft-launch on Spring 2026 runways from Dior, Khaite, and more.
Jonathan Anderson's debut women's show included a petticoated pair of navy shorts with a quilted, burgundy-colored purse. Meanwhile, Khaite coupled a lighter burgundy jacket with slim, dark-blue jeans. Spanish label Lemachet's crocheted bag looked so Jenner-coded alongside a similarly-cinched navy blazer.

If burgundy and chartreuse reads a touch too festive, follow Jenner's lead with navy blue instead. The autumnal-leaning color combination is unexpected for spring, but no one can deny its versatility. After all, you'll need a break from excess pastels at some point this season.
