Wearing red and green beyond the holidays feels like some sort of sartorial crime. But it doesn’t have to be—at least according to fashion’s top-tier luxury labels. For Prada’s Spring 2026 collection, the brand styled a scrunched-up burgundy sweater over a chartreuse button-down. Not to mention, during that same fashion week circuit, similar color combinations appeared across the glitzy catwalks of Balmain and Ulla Johnson.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time burgundy and chartreuse have made a splash on the runways. Look back to the Spring 2024 season, and you’ll find that Altuzarra embraced the unconventional pairing with a sheer collared blouse and a ruffled pencil skirt, both of which were covered in embellishments. Months later, for Fall 2024, Gucci gave the color scheme a spin with a deep-V sweater dress and a pair of dramatic thigh-high boots.

While undoubtedly polarizing, this mash-up has caught the attention of It girls everywhere, and it’s even gone viral on TikTok. Style videos featuring the burgundy-and-chartreuse blend have amassed hundreds of thousands of views over the last few months, signaling a growing interest in the combo.
