When I think about fashion’s quintessential fall color trends, subtle neutrals often come to mind. Whether it’s a shade of creamy beige that reminds me of a sweet-tasting pumpkin spice latte, or a hue of chestnut brown that resembles crisp foliage, these traditional autumn colors are usually understated. However, this season, it appears as though some designers are ditching these conventional colors for striking alternatives that embrace a more spirited attitude.

During the Fall 2026 fashion week circuit, luxury labels proved that bubblegum pink isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The viral hue emerged across Chanel’s catwalk in the form of drool-worthy dresses that any style connoisseur would fall head over heels for (mérci, Matthieu Blazy). Meanwhile, Balenciaga drenched leather jackets and buttoned coats in tomato red, demonstrating that the fruit-inspired pigment is more than just a summer shade. And elsewhere, moss green took center stage at Kallmeyer, styled alongside a shimmering chartreuse skirt for a tonal appeal. Other noteworthy colors like magenta, mustard yellow, and aqua blue also made quite a statement.

Although I’m a minimalist who gravitates toward muted tones, the runways have convinced me to give fall’s biggest color trends a try. If you’d also like to put a saturated spin on your wardrobe this season, scroll on for a curated shopping guide that will help you to step into your dopamine dressing era.

For my fellow minimalists who are intimidated by loud colors, consider moss green. Defined by an earthy undertone, it can easily be styled as a neutral. On the runways, designers like Kallmeyer, Altuzarra, and Balmain offered an elegant take with flattering tops, sweeping dresses, and polished outerwear.

Bubblegum pink has been topping the color trend charts for a while now, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Chanel, Dior, and Chloé played into the shade’s inherently girly feel with sumptuous gowns and ruffled separates. If your wardrobe needs an elevated upgrade, this charming shade is guaranteed to deliver.

There’s a popular fashion concept that states that an unexpected pop of red can enhance any outfit. On the Fall 2026 runways, Alaïa, Balenciaga, and Hermès took this theory a step further, styling their models in tomato red from head to toe. It’s a monochromatic approach that will instantly command attention. Try it for yourself and expect to make heads turn.

I first spotted the magenta color trend during Sergio Hudson’s Fall 2026 show, where the vibrant shade appeared on a billowing leather dress. Then, I noticed similar hues on the runways of both Chloé and Stella McCartney, and I immediately knew that this color would become a viral hit. There’s something about it that’s oh-so edgy and gives “main character” energy.

Move over, butter yellow! Mustard yellow is the new coveted shade of the season. It’s warmer and bolder, and feels very fitting for fall. Alaïa, Sergio Hudson, and Dior displayed the deep shade on collared coats, embellished longline blazers, and ruffled sweater jackets. But the color works beyond outerwear, too.

A few weeks ago, I reported on the rise of aqua blue—a playful summer color trend that's made quite a splash. The best thing about this nautical-inspired shade is that it can easily transition into the colder months. For outfit inspiration, look toward Altuzarra, Balenciaga, and Hermès.
