I’ve waxed poetic about my must-have makeup products before, but it bears repeating: blush is one of my absolute favorite categories to test. Palettes, singles, creams, liquids—all are welcome in my collection, and as a self-proclaimed makeup archivist, I’ve found some serious gems. Before I go off on too much of an aside, with summer coming up, I’ve found myself not only stepping up my bronzer game but also shifting my blushes from deep, moody, and sultry to bright, playful, and sun-kissed. As such, my peach blushes have been getting some serious airtime.
Of course, this got me thinking about the best peach blushes that are going to make it to the front of my collection by the time summer rolls around, and I have to admit, it’s a pretty elite list. There’s an entire world of peach blush out there ready to help us all perfect our go-to summer makeup looks. Of course, the type of blush you like varies based on skin type, color, and more, and with what feels like a million options to choose from, the search for your perfect peach blush can feel…daunting to say the least.
However, you know I would never let you out into the world without a very detailed list of products to choose from and examples of how to wear your favorite new peach blushes. Finding a staple drugstore blush will always feel like winning the lottery, and luckily for you, you’re about to hit the jackpot. Twice.
Morphe has relaunched with a vengeance, and I am loving it. One of the brand’s latest launches, the Cheek Thrills Multi-Finish Face Trio in the shade Poolside Spritz is the perfect peachy shade for tan to deep skin tones. It also comes with three distinctly different formulas in one compact: a cream, a luminous balm, and a powder, all in the same complementary shade for the finish of your choosing.
I still can’t believe that e.l.f.’s Primer Infused line is under $10, but I am not complaining. As the name suggests, the formula is infused with a primer, which makes it extremely long-lasting, and the shade Always Fresh is a perfect peachy hue.
The High End Ones
If you crave the finer things in life, the two peach blushes below are for the beauty lovers who demand luxury in every step of their beauty routines.
While Light Peach is fantastic for lighter skin tones, I find that Chanel’s Intense Coral Les Beiges Water-Fresh Blush gives me the perfect peachy flush. The formula is also incredibly innovative. Where else can you find a blush made up of over 70 percent skincare with encapsulated pigments that melt into the skin on contact?
One day I’ll stop talking about the Hourglass Ambient powder range, but that day is not today. The Ambient Lighting Blush in Dim Infusion is a perfect blush topper for a peach blush. The light coral color is mixed with Dim Infusion finishing powder to add the perfect warm peachy glow that will make your cheek look airbrushed. I use the entire Ambient powder line as finishing powders, so I'd apply my normal cream and powder peach blushes first, and then use this one to top everything off.
The Cream Ones
Whether you have dry skin or just love a healthy glow, the cream blushes below will give you the dewy, peachy cheeks that you’re dreaming about for spring and summer.
The Color Fuse line from Haus Labs is still one of the best cream blush launches I’ve seen in a while, so of course, the shade Glassy Pomelo needs to be on your radar. The color straddles the line between peach and pink, so reach for a peachy powder to top it off and bring out those warmer hues.
Prada’s latest launch, the Touch Cream-To-Powder blush in the shade Peach, has quickly climbed to the top of my favorites list. Not only is the formula perfectly emollient without being too salve-like, but the packaging is tiny enough to fit in practically any makeup bag, and they stack on top of each other. It’s the perfect blush to throw in your bag for any upcoming summer travels.
The Liquid Ones
Liquid blush is a staple in my collection, especially if I want to underpaint. The two below are my nonnegotiables.
To this day, Rare Beauty’s liquid blushes are still one of the most pigmented that I have ever encountered. The shade Joy is one of my favorite peach shades in the line, and it has a dewy finish that adds a gorgeous luminosity to the cheeks. Be warned: a little goes a very long way.
Laura Geller’s serum blushes are woefully underrated, and I need that to change. The Cheek Tint in Poppy Peach is a gorgeous peachy pink shade that looks fantastic on all skin tones, but is especially well-suited for mature skin. Plus, the sponge-tip applicator makes it super easy to use.
The Powder Ones
As an oily-skinned gal, powder blush will always be in my rotation. The formulas below have stood out to me over the last few months and are perfect for anyone who prefers matte skin that isn’t flat.
Hung Vango’s Very Beautiful Matte Blush in Born From Beauty is everything a modern powder blush should be. Pigmented, soft to the point of almost feeling creamy, and incredibly easy to blend. It’s been one of my favorite recent additions to my makeup collection and will be front and center come summer.
The Make Me Blush line is some of YSL Beauty’s best work, and the shade Peachy Nude needs a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The color leans more towards the terracotta side of peach, which, in my opinion, makes it one of the most universal blush colors in the line. Tack on the stunning packaging and super soft, easy-to-blend texture? Iconic doesn't even begin to cover it.
What Skin Tone Does Peach Blush Look Good On?
As for who should be wearing peach blush, the short answer is: Everyone. “Peach blush is always popular because it doesn’t fight against most skin tones,” makeup artist Ehlie Luna tells me. “In other words, there’s a peach for any and everyone.”
The best thing about peach blushes is how natural they look across all skin tones. It’s why makeup artists also tend to gravitate toward them. “The concept of blush relates to blood flow and vitality,” Luna says. “For it to look the most natural, your blush should look like it’s coming from within.”
Peach blush, Luna says, is a tone that can easily feel like it’s emanating from you instead of being placed on you, which is the difference between “I like your makeup” and “you look so fresh and healthy today.” One compliment is about how your makeup sits on the skin.
